Adeel Tariq has joined the Yokohama Europe GmbH team in Düsseldorf, Germany as the company’s new Vice President Human Resources & Admin. He comes to Yokohama Rubber’s European sales and marketing business from Prometeon Tyre Group, where he held several roles over a five-year period.
As of 10 October, Hiroyuki Shioiri will switch roles at Yokohama Europe GmbH. On this date, he will cease acting as president of Yokohama Rubber’s European tyre sales and marketing operation and will become its chairman.
On 6 May 2021 Yokohama Europe GmbH, signed an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of Poland’s ITR CEE Spółka z.o.o., a wholesale distributor engaged in the import and sale of Yokohama tyres in central and eastern Europe. The acquisition is scheduled to be concluded on 14 May 2021, after which the Polish company’s name will be changed to Yokohama CEE Spółka z.o.o.
Yokohama Europe reports it has been able to maintain its OTR business at a similar level to previously even under the tough conditions resulting from COVID-19. Truck and bus tyre sales were 27 per cent down during the same period, with Italy particularly affected.
