Rodcraft has introduced a new range of air-hydraulic-jacks for the heavy vehicle service market, adding to its wide portfolio of pneumatic tools and workshop equipment. Featuring a hydraulic system designed for high durability and ease of use, the new ATJ30-2, ATJ50-3 and ATJ80-2 jacks are suited to truck and bus maintenance applications.
Mercedes-Benz has given the Hunter three-axle commercial vehicle alignment system OEM approval. Available exclusively in the UK through wheel alignment specialist Pro-Align, Hunter states that its system is the first and only wheel aligner available capable of providing live alignment readings on three axles simultaneously, reducing the time needed to conduct an alignment check. The aligner can be used on all Mercedes-Benz trucks, buses, trailers and vans, including those with multiple steering axles. The CV approval follows Mercedes-Benz making Hunter’s car focused aligners available to dealers last year.
GSF Car Parts say their recent Norwich branch open evening drew an “amazing proportion” of local garages, with many staying until after 22:00, socialising with GSF staff and some key suppliers. The event, which took place on Thursday 29 September, was held to celebrate extensive recent improvements which have seen both stock upgrades and a new sales office for the thriving branch.
Nearly a year on from the launch of the T-Pro1 Tech TPMS will continue to advance its TPMS programme in the autumn with the addition of Hamaton H36 and H46 diagnostic tools into the programme. The company also launched the Tech OE-R sensor and ATEQ VT36 diagnostic tool at the Reifen exhibition in May.
Supertracker will introduce its first 3D wheel aligner in October. The company is marking its 30th year of successful trading with this new landmark. Managing director Trevor Lovesy says: “Over the past couple of years we have experimented with the new concept of 3D alignment and concluded that the crucifix style systems have a definite limitation in terms of space, flexibility and accuracy. However we have now introduced the STR600 3D wheel aligner that completely eliminates these problems as we have moved the camera location to the lift which eliminates the need to move a vehicle backward and forward to obtain readings.”
The Automechanika Innovation Awards 2016 have been announced – and tyre manufacturer Continental and tyre equipment manufacturer Corghi are amongst the winners. On 23 August 2016, the independent jury of nine experts reached agreement on eight award winners whose innovative solutions and future-oriented products will be presented for the first time in an interactive special show in the ‘Festhalle’ during the coming Automechanika Frankfurt on 13 September 2016.

Diagnostic equipment supplier Hella Gutmann Solutions (HGS) has a long standing business relationship with independent research centre, Thatcham Research. The firms recently hosted the Repair Focus event, attended by major bodyshop groups and insurance companies, with HGS recalibration system tools for the aftermarket used to carry out specific tests to establish the correct safety procedures when repairing a vehicle. Thatcham has recently issued the ADAS Glazing Code of Practice, which gives clear guidance on the recalibration of ADAS systems during the replacement or refit of windscreens.

Pro-Align says the new entry-level Hunter PA200 will allow more tyre shops to “enjoy the financial, efficiency and customer service benefits that result from ownership of a Hunter wheel alignment system.” The PA200 features a two-camera system and uses the same imaging technology found on the company’s popular, range-topping Elite TD system.

The tool provides independent garages with online access to vehicle manufacturer’s websites, enabling workshop to reprogram and update vehicle electronic control units without expensive dealer-only tools and software.
