Uniwheels’ has been selected to provide OE wheels for the new Audi A8 Hybrid. The contract sees Uniwheels provide its “19-inch hybrid aluminium wheel”, which is said to offer an exclusive aerodynamic design.

Yokohama exhibiting at InterAuto in Russia
NewsYokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., is participating in InterAuto 2013, Russia's 9th international exhibition of automotive industry, which is being held in Moscow between 28 – 31 August. According to the company, the Yokohama exhibit will feature the firm’s three core tyre ranges – the high performance Advan line, the environmentally friendly BluEarth line, and the winter-safe "iceGUARD" line. The tyre maker is also displaying tyres for trucks and buses as well as aluminium wheels.
11th CITExpo to be ‘largest’ show yet
NewsThe 11th edition of the China International Tyre Expo (CITExpo) looks set to be the largest prior to the show’s opening. The three halls of the Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center are full ready for the show on 4-6 September. The organiser, Reliable International Exhibition Services, says that more than 350 quality exhibitors will occupy 24,000sqm exhibition space, including major tyre industry brands like Cooper, Double Coin, Stamford, Techking and Triangle. Whilst a few days of dry and windy weather can render the crop itself harvestable, the soil below remains wet and whereas the small combines of yesteryear could usually operate on wet terrain, modern, heavier machinery often becomes bogged down in the mud, reducing efficiency and causing potentially expensive delays in what could be a short window of opportunity for the year’s harvest.
YHI adds Proton OE supply to Malaysia factory output
International News, NewsYHI reports that its expanding Malaysia factory has gained some new OE deals including one with Proton as part of its strategy to grow its aftermarket and OEM businesses in Malaysia and wider region. According to YHI, the contract is to supply alloy wheels to Proton for its Satroa Meo R3, Global Small Cars and Saga FLX models. This order of alloy wheels will be manufactured at the Group’s Malaysia plant.

Stellana appoints US industrial sales manager
NewsMoulded polyurethane and rubber wheels and tyre manufacturer Stellana US Inc. has appointed a new industrial sales manager. Jack Garcyznski joined the company on 1 July and is responsible for developing sales of custom poured polyurethane parts throughout the United States.
