Drivers Lobby Group the Alliance of British Drivers have expressed concern that losing the hard shoulder on the proposed M1 Managed Motorway scheme could jeopardise motorists safety.
The group are concerned that the modern trend for car manufacturers to substitute a can of foam for a proper full size spare wheel will put lives at risk where there is no longer a motorway hard shoulder.

TrelleborgAB, parent company of Trelleborg Wheel Systems, and Trelleborg Treasury AB have jointly concluded an agreement regarding an extension of the existing syndicated credit facilities that were established in 2011. The extended credit facilities total €750 million and US$625 million, have a tenor of five years and will mature in December 2018, with an option of extension thereafter for a maximum of two further years.

US off-road tyre specialist Titan International has released a new category of Goodyear brand tractor tyres intended to provide better floatation. Initially two ranges from this category are on offer: The Goodyear Super Terra Grip XT 1000/40R32 and the Goodyear DT930 1100/45R46. During last week’s Agritechnica exhibition, German agricultural publishing group Deutscher Landwirtschaftverlag, or DLV, held its ‘Machine of the Year 2014’ awards. The publisher acknowledged machinery manufacturers in 16 classes of award and, additionally, presented a ‘special prize’ category – which was awarded to Trelleborg for its ProgressiveTraction technology.
