Following its launch at the IAA Show in Hannover in October 2014, Vacu-Lug, the sole UK distributor for all Westlake truck and bus radial tyres, has launched the range in the UK.
According to the company, the Westlake range offers a choice of 17.5”, 19.5” and 22.5” rim diameters and consists of four applications: Long Haul, Regional, Mixed Service and Max Load.

During its recent Partners Day in Bangkok, Thailand, Zenises announced the launch of its new Westlake retail initiative in Spain and Portugal. The Westlake affiliated garage network is being launch in 2015 and is aiming to support over 100 members over the next two years.

Zenises held its 2015 Westlake European Partners event on 14-17 March at the five star Grand Hyatt Erawan in downtown Bangkok. The company was joined by Westlake dealers and distributors from across Europe, as well as by leading dignitaries from Zhongce Rubber (Hangzhou Zhongce), the producer of the Westlake tyre brand. During the event, Ge Gourong, Zhongce’s CEO, expressed thanks to those attending for continuing the development of the Westlake brand in Europe, and detailed his vision for the brand’s future direction.
Vacu-Lug Traction Tyres has secured a new tyre supply contract with Countrystyle Recycling. Countrystyle reportedly opted for the Vacu-Lug full tyre supply and fleet management solution because it wanted “increased visibility and standardisation within a tyre agreement and was impressed by the advanced control and reporting systems that Vacu-Lug offered.”
Countrystyle has specified Vacu-Lug, Pirelli, Formula and Westlake tyres, depending on the vehicle type involved. They are managed through Vacu-Lug’s VMS tyre fleet management system and all fitments and breakdowns are supplied and covered by ATS Euromaster.

As reported today, German motoring magazine Auto Bild recently published its annual winter tyre test. Out of the 50 tested tyres, only 16 were deemed worthy of progressing to the second round of tests – and just 14 were given a ‘recommended’ or higher rating. Many in the final 14 were products from household name premium tyre manufacturers, but – as Leicester City showed Manchester United last month – it isn’t always the big names that finish on top. A name many didn’t expect to see was Westlake, who received a recommended result for its SW608 and in doing so highlighted the truth that not all Chinese tyres are price-driven, lower-quality products.
Mid-way through the Essen Show, the people behind one of the largest plots in hall three (home to the Infinity, Westlake and Linglong brands) announced that they are changing their corporate identity. And while this did mean the unveiling of a Zenises logo and a new range of Z branded tyres, speaking to chief executive officer Harjeev Kandhari reveals that the concept goes far further than this.
