While still relatively new to the UK, Grouptyre-distributed Landsail gave itself its biggest marketing platform yet when it became title sponsor of Autosport International 2015’s Performance Car Show. The Sentury Tire brand has already clocked some impressive sales figures in the UK, and the brand’s representatives talked of being “keen to give the brand the profile it deserves”. With a number of performance tyres, Landsail targeted the show as an opportunity to speak to “the right trade and consumer audiences,” as well as getting the product in front of end-consumers.

Bridgestone has doubled the coverage offered by its Dayton truck tyre range, which it offers in the US and Canadian markets. Eight new Dayton patterns have joined the line-up and, says Bridgestone Commercial, meet the diverse needs of small fleets and owner operators in a multitude of trucking segments. The product launch coincides with the launch of a new daytontrucktires.com website and tagline, ‘Tires for Truckers’.

Landsail has launched a new UK website to showcase its growing range in the week they will present the Performance Car Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC). The new website has been developed to accommodate Landsail’s extensive range, which has expanded from 100 sizes in 2012 to 225 sizes today, and will be featured at the show. Landsail had a successful year in 2014, having acquired new dealers; accelerated investment in engineering and production; planned a new factory in Thailand; and manufactured its first aircraft tyre. The brand also made its Brityrex debut, with manufacturer Sentury Tyre.

Bridgestone says the redesigned site features automatic page layout adjustment to match the user’s viewing environment. The Marshal tyre brand’s digital presence in the Middle East region has been expanded through the launch of a new website. The multilingual English-Arabic-Persian site aims to inform consumers prior to making a purchase decision, and in addition to covering the entire Marshal product range it provides a dealer locator to help potential buyers find the nearest centre. The site is optimised for desktop, tablet and mobile viewing.
Trax has launched a new website offering information on a wide range of wheel balancing weights and technical information. According to the company, the firm’s new site particularly focuses on the Trax “Professional” range of adhesive weights that work when others fall off.

According to the company, the Point S UK membership, continues to grow despite fluctuations on the continent. The growth is said to demonstrates “the confidence that tyre professionals have in our industry expertise and will ensure that we strengthen our position as the leading tyre dealer network” the company said in an internal publication announcing the additions to its network.
Kumho Tyre’s new customer-facing corporate website has been launched. The new site focuses on providing a better browsing experience for those visiting on mobile devices, an approach the tyre manufacturer calls a “mobile first, fully responsive perspective”. As a result of this responsive design, the site adapts automatically to suit the size of the user’s screen. Kumho claims this resulted in a 50 per cent increase in the amount of mobile traffic to the website in its first week, with early feedback saying 96 per cent of visitors “would recommend” the site, from 1,000 unique surveys. The site’s usability and design attractiveness have also been rated at least “good” by more than 98 per cent of respondents.
Arguments about greater steering precision aside, the chief reason for fitting low profile tyres to a car is to enhance its appearance. But a narrow sidewall is favoured by some in the off-road sector for entirely difference reasons. Titan International developed its first low profile – it calls it low sidewall, or LSW – off-road tyre in the 1990s and initially introduced the technology on the Caterpillar-brand skid steer tyre in 1999. The company believes that when the benefits of LSW are more widely known the technology will gain widespread acceptance, and to spread word about LSW a new, dedicated website has been rolled out.
