Kumho to supply OE tyres for new Volkswagen Multivan
Kumho Tire is supplying ECSTA HS52 tyres as original equipment (OE) for the new generation Volkswagen Multivan. The ECSTA HS52 product will be provided in 235/55 R17 and 235/50 R18 sizes, according to the Korean tyremaker.
Repxpert double clutch training heads to Devon
Schaeffler’s upcoming Repxpert 2CT training course is scheduled to take place on 16-17 July at the South Devon College Skills Academy in Newton Abbot, Devon. Beissbarth Q.Lign Wheel Alignment system VW approved
Beissbarth’s Q.Lign system has received full VAG (Volkswagenwerk Aktiengesellschaft, that is Volkswagen Group or VWG) approval status, which means it is accredited for all VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Cupra, Porsche, Lamborghini and Bentley vehicles.
‘Service campaign’ for Goodyear-shod VW ID.3
If a VW dealership informs an ID.3 owner during the course of a standard service appointment that the car’s tyres need to be replaced, it may not simply be a case of wear and tear. We’ve heard of one owner who was informed during a dealer workshop visit that the tyres on his VW ID.3 would need to be replaced if they were specific Goodyear original equipment tyres. He was told that there may be an issue with the tread, and the dealer replaced the Goodyear OE tyres with a new set of Continental tyres free of charge.
Pirelli tyres for VW ID. GTI Concept
Volkswagen says the ID. GTI Concept show car it is presenting for the first time at the IAA Mobility in Munich provides a “concrete insight” into how it will transport the GTI label into the “electric future”. Based on the ID. 2all1 presented in March – a future electric compact car expected to cost around 25,000 euros – VW considers the ID. GTI Concept to be “more than just a show car.”
Continental supplying all-season option for VW’s new Multivan
Buyers of the VW Multivan who want all-season tyres can have these factory fitted, with the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles UK website listing these as an option when selecting either 16-, 17- or 18-inch rims. Continental shares that it is supplying its AllSeasonContact as an original equipment tyre for the Multivan in two key dimensions, 215/65 R16 102H XL and 235/55 R17 103H XL.
Continental tyres for ID. Buzz
The Volkswagen campervan is going electric, and just like its split-screen ancestor the T1 and many models in between, the new ID. Buzz will roll off the production line on Continental tyres. Depending on model and market, VW will fit Continental EcoContact 6 Q tyres in sizes 235/55 R19 105T XL, 255/50 R19 107T XL, 235/50 R20 104T XL or 265/45 R20 108T XL.
Vredestein tyres OE on VW Caddy
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has selected Apollo Tyres’ latest Vredestein Quatrac all-season tyre as original equipment for the new Caddy. It will fit the Quatrac in 205/65R15 99H XL to selected Caddy models manufactured at the Volkswagen production facility in Poznan, Poland.
Volkswagen halts Russian production, imports
Volkswagen AG has stopped the production of vehicles in Russia until further notice. This decision applies to the site in Kaluga, which produced the VW Tiguan, Polo and Škoda Rapid and made 118,000 vehicles last year, as well as Nizhny Novgorod, where it built VW and Škoda models under a contract with GAZ Group. Vehicle exports to Russia have also been stopped with immediate effect.
Nexen supplying N’Fera tyres to VW Jetta
Nexen Tire is an original equipment supplier to the VW Golf in the UK and Europe, and in other markets it is also supplying a Volkswagen model no longer sold here. The facelifted version of the seventh-generation VW Jetta will come with Nexen tyres as original equipment. Nexen Tire shares that it will supply its Nexen N’Fera AU7 all-season performance tyre as original equipment for the VW saloon.
Continental recalls 67,128 tyres across Europe, including 477 in the UK
ContinentalContinental today announced a voluntary tyre replacement program for 67,128 ContiEcoContact 5 tyres in size 235/55 R 17 103 H XL across Europe. However, the number of tyres being voluntarily recalled in the UK is far lower, with just 477 ContiEcoContact 5 tyres sold in the UK replacement market covered by the announcement. The reason for the recall? “In rare cases, if the affected tyres are used over a longer or repeated period of time, with heavy loading or possible overloading, a sudden loss of air may occur.”
Hankook-supported VW ID.4 tour gains Guinness World Records title
Guinness World Records has acknowledged the Hankook Tire-supported ‘Volkswagen ID.4: Great Roadshow through the U.S.’ as the longest continuous journey by an electric vehicle (non-solar) in a single country. The 35,000-mile trip took place between 13 July and 18 October. The team’s VW ID.4 visited all 48 contiguous US states in all-electric mode, thereby breaking the previous record that was set in 2019.
Yokohama Advan Sport V105 tyres on new Volkswagen concept SUV
VW; YokohamaYokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.’s Advan Sport V105 tyres have been selected by Volkswagen of America for its Atlas Cross Sport GT Concept, which was unveiled in July. The car is fitted with 285/35ZR22 106Y size V105 tyres.
VW ID.4 to ride on Hankook tyres
VolkswagenHankook Tire confirms that its tyres will be original equipment on Volkswagen’s first all-electric SUV, the ID.4. The tyre maker will supply its Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 ev in numerous sizes from the vehicle’s market launch. OEM fitment on the ID.4 follows the pairing of prototype Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 ev tyres with the VW study ID. Crozz, the design of which the new ID.4 is based on.
