The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co has appointed Joe Burke vice president of its North America Commercial business. He reports to Steve McClellan, president, Goodyear Americas. Burke succeeds Dave Beasley, retiring after nearly 40 years with Goodyear.
The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has confirmed the appointment of Daksh Gupta, the former Group Chief Executive Officer of Marshall Motor Holdings plc and Vice President of BEN, as a Vice President of the professional body. With three decades’ automotive experience, Daksh Gupta joins six other IMI Vice Presidents who all bring unprecedented hands-on experience, benefitting the IMI community, the wider sector and a new generation of people entering or considering entering the automotive workforce. Led by IMI President, Professor Jim Saker, the Vice Presidents’ vast knowledge and varying perspectives help the professional body adapt and respond to the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
Two Linglong Tire vice presidents have changed roles within the company, reports our sister website Tyrepress China. Due to job changes, Chen Xuemei resigned as vice president, but continues to hold other positions in Linglong. Li Wei resigned as chief financial officer (CFO), but remains a vice president at the tyre maker and a director on the board. Lv Xiaoyan, vice president of Linglong, took over from Li Wei and concurrently serves as CFO.
Bridgestone EMIA (Europe, Middle East, India and Africa) is shuffling its sales leadership structure. Taking effect on 1 September, the changes of vice presidential roles coincide with the departure of Mirella Cielo, who will become president consumer replacement tire sales, US and Canada, Bridgestone Americas. The EMIA division stated that Cielo “has been instrumental within Bridgestone EMIA’s consumer replacement organisation throughout her three years in the business.”
Sailun Group has appointed Gareth Passmore as senior vice president (PCR and TBR Tyres). The manufacturer states that his appointment is designed to strengthen the company’s management team in Europe, aligned with its objective of growing its European market share. Passmore is making his return to Sailun having previously served as president of Sailun Jinyu International in 2016-17. Fluent in several languages, Passmore has previously held a number of international focused roles with Falken, Apollo, and Continental.
Bridgestone has appointed Andrea Manenti as vice president for its North Region, which includes the UK and Ireland. Manenti joins Bridgestone from Trelleborg Wheel Systems where he was global OE senior director. He joined Trelleborg in Italy as sales director and has held managing director and country manager positions in the UK and Ireland, China and Asia.
Terry Knox has been appointed the new Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) president, taking over from Lawrence Bleasdale who stepped down at IAAF’s AGM on 14 February. This comes at the same time as IAAF’s Honorary Treasurer Richard Welland has been appointed the new vice president.
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has announced the planned retirement as a full-time executive of Ginger Jones, senior vice president and chief financial officer. Jones intends to focus on serving on public company boards of directors.
