The Brooksville, Florida-based manufacturer of tyre changing tools and equipment modified the background of the logo to reflect the colors of the Indian flag. “Our modification to the logo is a temporary change, to show our dedication to developing the market in India,” said Keith Jarman, president of AME, who attended the exhibition in Chennai. “The logo has been well received here at the show and I expect that we will continue to use for marketing here in India.”
The inaugural staging of Tyrexpo India 2011 in Chennai reportedly got off to a strong start, according to the exhibition’s organisers. The show was opened by guest of honour Sudarsan Varadaraj, managing Director of Elgi Rubber Company. He welcomed the show to India saying that the timing was right for an event that showcased the best of India’s emerging tyre and equipment aftermarket. The set up in India will see the establishment of 84 trucking centres across Northern and Western India that will meet the demands of the industrial and commercial sector. This will also provide a foundation for ZAFCO to eventually launch into the premium segment of the tyre market.
Dubai-based Zafco, the only Dubai based company to exhibit at the Tyrexpo Asia 2011 held in Singapore last month, won the exhibition’s “gold award” for the most innovative stand design. Zafco’s premium brand Zeetex also participated, with all the categories of tyres including passenger, truck and bus. Visitors to the Zafco and Zeetex stands experienced interactive discussions, activities, multimedia advertisements and tyre patterns on display.
ECI International, the organiser of the new Tyrexpo India planned for 5 – 7 July 2011, has announced a strategic alliance with Capexil, the Indian Government-sponsored agency responsible for the promotion of the country’s tyre and rubber exporters. PCL’s inflation specialists have announced that they will be “driving home the benefits of nitrogen” to the sell-out crowd at this year’s Brityrex. All stands at the UK’s leading international tyre and equipment exhibition – which attracts the best of British, as well as suppliers and visitors from all around the world – have now been booked.
Top of the list of exhibits is the company’s Accura Nitrogen Analyzer – a nitrogen system that displays the percentage of nitrogen in your tyres. According to the company, other products on the market read only the amount of oxygen, therefore the PCL analyzer removes the need to convert the oxygen percentage into the figure for nitrogen.

The fourth Tyrexpo Africa exhibition will take place from 6-8 March, 2012. Automotive aftermarket exhibition organiser ECI International also confirmed that the popular tyre trade and garage equipment show, Tyrexpo Africa, will return to Johannesburg at the Sandton Convention Centre. “2012 will be the fourth staging of Tyrexpo Africa and we are confident that the show will continue to grow and establish itself as the premier tyre and garage equipment trade event of its kind in southern Africa,” says ECI managing director Paul Farrant.

Tyres & Accessories’ representative on the ground at Tyrexpo Africa reported back that one of the more impressive stands at the Johannesburg show belong to Tubestone. Its aesthetic promotional effectiveness, he added, could perhaps in part be measured by the fact that the stand appeared to be one of the busiest. Or perhaps visitors were simply interested in the wide range of tubes and passenger car, LDV; truck; light truck; agricultural; industrial and mining tyres sold by the South African business.
With tyre costs rising, it makes sense for hauliers and fleet managers to ensure that their tyres are maintained in A1 condition. And it is not just the cost of the tyre itself – properly maintained and inflated tyres can reduce fuel consumption. Translogik produces a range of tyre inspection solutions for fleet managers, including hand-held tread depth and pressure probe – the OTR probe can measure treads up to 130mm deep and pressures up to 190 psi. These are complemented by Translogik's own software, which provides the fleet operator with a totally automated tyre management and fleet inspection process, allowing a series of reports to be generated. These can include a work-to-do list, highlighting what maintenance work is required for each vehicle, and a Tread Depth and Tyre Pressure Analysis.
Nitralife states with pride it was the first company in the world to actively promote the use of nitrogen inflation gas in car and truck tyres. It held the first field tests with the substance in early 1995 and the success of these led to the formation of Nitralife "Nitrogen in Tyres" in mid 1996.
