Euro Car Parts (ECP), the UK's leading aftermarket parts distributor has launched its first Euro Garage Solutions catalogue. Products include: diagnostics, compressors, lifts and tyre equipment from suppliers such as Brian Bee, Ecotechnics, Bosch, Werther and the latest addition to the EGS range – John Bean tyre equipment.
Al Saeedi Group, a leading Middle Eastern tyre distributor, has expanded its operations into Uganda. The UAE based company set up Tyrexpress (U) Ltd. on 13 April 2010. The company was inaugurated by Niraj Srivastava, High Commissioner of India in the presence of company directors, distinguished guests and customers.
Snap-on Equipment reports that its first UK customer for the Hofmann Quadriga 1000 automatic tyre changer has taken delivery of the machine. Wrexham-based Minera Tyres & Exhaust has been supplied with the new, state-of-the-art machine, which enables tyres to be automatically demounted and mounted from wheel rims with a diameter of up to 30”. The Quadriga 1000 was supplied by Unipart Garage Equipment Services.
More exhibitors from across the aftermarket have signed up for October’s Brityrex International exhibition, with familiar names and new brands seeking to capitalise on the potential offered by a post-recession tyre and equipment marketplace. Among the latest names to be confirmed by show organiser ECI International are battery specialist Manbat, Chinese tyre maker Guizhou Tyre Co and a strong hand of garage equipment suppliers in Snap-On Equipment, DQN and JHM Butt & Co.
Snap-on Equipment has introduced two new tyre changers under the Hofmann and John Bean brands to meet what the company perceives as a growing need for tyre shops and garages to handle the larger wheel rim diameters fitted to an increasing number of cars on the road: the Hofmann monty 3300-24 and John Bean T4500-24.
ECI International has confirmed that 70 per cent of stand space for Brityrex International 2010 (5, 6 and 7 October at Manchester Central) has now been sold. Confirming the positive take-up from exhibitors, ECI managing director Paul Farrant said: “We continue to make very good progress with the exhibition and I can put everyone’s mind to rest by confirming that Brityrex will definitely be taking place as planned in Manchester in October. Reaching the 70 per cent milestone at this relatively early stage means we go forward with confidence and in the knowledge that the industry is firmly behind the exhibition.”
Visitors to Tyrexpo Africa in Johannesburg in early March will have more than 140 exhibitors to talk business with as they look to take advantage of exclusive brand opportunities with tyre suppliers and improve the efficiency of their businesses with the latest workshop equipment, consumables and services. According to the show’s organisers, the third staging of Tyrexpo Africa (4, 5 and 6 March 2010 at the Sandton Convention Centre (SCC), Johannesburg) has experienced a late surge of exhibitor bookings taking the show to near stand space capacity.

Euro Garage Solutions (EGS), the Garage Equipment Specialist Division, of Euro Car Parts Ltd is confident that its Teco brand of tyre changers is more than capable of meeting the workshops current and future demands. In consumables, the distributor has announced that it will supply Bosch’s recently launched new range of garage equipment ‘Around the Wheel’ products. The company, which calls itself “the UK’s leading aftermarket parts supplier”, also stocks a comprehensive range of tyre repair materials from Rema Tip Top, launched a new extended range of SNR wheel bearing kits adding nearly 1,000 existing references in September and becomes “the first in the UK to sell the Koyo Hub Bearings in a branded Koyo box”, with its Japanese OEM timing belt tensioner/idler and Wheel Bearing Range extension.
Corghi has released the passenger car tyre changer it hopes will “widen the success of the Artiglio 50,” the Artiglio 500. The new model has been improved on the basis of feedback from the market, resulting in what Corghi hopes will be received as “an even higher performance product.” It will be demonstrated by Apaseal at Brityrex on the 5-7 October, 2010, and will be available from February. The company will continue to provide its “Blue Light” system for wheel balancing.
Hofmann, a brand within Snap-on Equipment, has unveiled its new duo of machines under the brand name Fusion. The company says that the wheel balancer and tyre changer both aim to be class leading. They are available as a package for £3,999, including a 24-month parts and labour warranty, delivery, installation and training.
The Promaxx range of tyre changers has, according to its distributor Rema Tip Top, become an instant success with both new and existing customers: “We listened to our customers, and their demands were clear; they wanted a tyre changer which was affordable, functional, built on quality engineering and installed with knowledge that performance and reliability came as standard,” says the company.
Sicam has announced the release of two new products: the SBM V80 compact wheel balancer for car and light industrial vehicle wheels, and the SA 830 D3 wheel aligner. In over 30 years in business, Sicam has earned great esteem among producer of tools and equipment for tyre changer and balancing machines, befitting its location in the Industrial area of Correggio – a place the company calls the “home of tyre changers”. In 1975, Sicam launched the first car Tyre Changer, FALCO F9/20A model, a forerunner of its main range of garage equipments. Thanks to innovative ideas and ambitious projects, Sicam says it has earned relevant market shares both in the domestic market and the international one. At present Sicam exports its equipments to more than 90 countries all over the world, while current production is over 22,000 machines per year, equal to 13 per cent of the market.
Garage equipment specialist, The Trade Group has recently introduced new own-brand products to compliment its range (it specialises in the distribution of Hofmann Megaplan equipment). Company representative, Stefan Bullworthy explained that The Trade Group now believes its range contains products to suit the smallest garage to the largest tyre shop, including the new own brand, Trademaster wheel care equipment:
For what it believes is the first time in India, Siremull Hirachand's Tyrestore of Greams Road, Chennai has announced the introduction of Italian robotics within their tyre fitting equipment. The Fox Robofit, Tyrestore continues, is recommended by Michelin and Bridgestone worldwide for the fitment of the new generation Tubeless, Runflat, Low/Ultra Low Profile, Hi Performance tyres and is customised to Tyrestore’s requirements, designed to suit Indian operating conditions. The retailer believes that the equipment makes the company “future ready”, since it can be used to fit tyres measuring up to 26” wheels/tyres. Exemplifying the company’s readiness for the future, says Tyrestore, is the fact that the current standard fitment limit for most BMW cars in India is only 20”, while Rolls Royce is 21”.
