Two-wheeler tyre specialist Cambrian Tyres has been appointed official UK importer for the Ceat motorcycle and scooter tyre range. This partnership extends to Ceat’s full range of original equipment fitments used by Royal Enfield and solidifies, says the wholesaler, Cambrian Tyres’ position as the “premier provider of high-quality two-wheel tyre brands to the trade.” Initial stocks will be available across various lines from Monday 29 April.
Metzeler has provided further details about the new Roadtec 02 range that it announced at the start of this year. It presents this successor to the Metzeler Roadtec 01 as “two tyres in one, thanks to innovative DynaTread technology, which adapts the behaviour from sport touring to supersport.”
By introducing a full new range of motorcycle tyres, in 2024 Michelin says it will “accomplish a major technical evolution.” It unveiled the first three of these products at the EICMA show in Italy last November. The new year gets underway with these products’ market debut.
As of 1 November 2023, Gerd Bartels takes over responsibility for Continental’s Specialty Tires business area. He succeeds Wolfgang Thomale, who Continental recently appointed head of the Surface Solutions business area within its ContiTech group sector.
This year will be the first time the Dunlop and Avon brands share exhibition space at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, following The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s acquisition of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company in 2021. While Dunlop is scheduled to “showcase its strongest range yet,” Avon will “focus on key designs” with a range that “still offers” its “most popular products” alongside the Dunlop portfolio.
Cambrian Tyres Ltd, premier two-wheel tyre distributor to the trade, has announced a partnership with Rebel Tyres that it calls “an exciting new chapter for the domestic off-road market.” Introducing the Spanish brand, Cambrian says Rebel Tyres is known for its cutting-edge innovation and commitment to excellence.
Avon Tyres entered the Goodyear fold in 2021 and was integrated into the wider group of brands over the following year. Its new owner considers Avon “one of the motorcycle industry’s longest-established tyre brands” and now plans a “fresh focus” for the British marque with a “reinvigorated approach.” At the same time, Goodyear says the Avon brand will remain a key part of its portfolio in the passenger vehicle segment.
A major name in UK car tyre distribution, Micheldever Tyre Services (MTS) is also active in the two-wheeler segment and carries a “full range” of more than 1,500 two-wheeler product lines. Motorcycle category manager Kevin Schmid recently shared that MTS is delighted to introduce Eurogrip, one of the fastest-growing names in the powered two-wheeler tyre segment, as a “strong house brand” that enables it to “target growth opportunities in the market.”
Apollo Tyres has appointed Alexander Mai as Cluster Manager for its European Two Wheel Tyre division. Mai will succeed Thomas Mittendorff, who steps down at the end of January to take a position outside the company. Mai takes responsibility for a business that currently offers Vredestein bicycle tyres in Europe and is expected to introduce a range of Vredestein-branded tyres for motorcycles and mopeds in the not-too-distant future.
