Marian Gabris has joined Triangle Tyre Europe as sales director for Eastern Europe. Gabris has more than 21 years of sales experience in the tyre industry, having started his career in 1996 with Matador.
Triangle Tyre Europe and Laserta have signed an agreement for the distribution of the brand in the Russian market. The agreement reflects the Chinese tyre manufacturer’s strategy of increasing its presence across the globe by opening regional offices and deploying local teams who will be working in partnership with professional distributors in each country.
Triangle has launched its new generation TB586 tyre pattern for mobile crane applications. The adaptable machinery used in different building projects such as construction of houses, buildings, airports and roadways, requires versatile tyres to allow operation in a number of different environments. The latest mobile cranes now operate at higher speeds too. Therefore Triangle’s new F speed rated TB586 allows for operation at speeds up to 80km/h.
Roberto Pizzamiglio has joined Triangle Tyre Europe as sales director for Southern Europe. Pizzamiglio has more than 20 years’ experience in the Italian tyre market and has covered several sales and marketing management roles within Magri Group, one of the leading tyre distributors in the country.
Triangle Tire’s US branch has announced plans to raise tyre prices up to 6 per cent “in-line adjustments on all its products sold in the US beginning 1 October 2017”.
Triangle Tire USA is recalling 288 Triangle TR643 tyres in size ST225/75R15 due to an apparent manufacturing error. According to the NHSTA recall notice, the tyres may have a hole where the sidewall and that could result in an air leak.
Triangle Tyre held its “2017 Global Summit” in the coastal city of Rongcheng – China, not far from the firm’s headquarters in Weihai between 27 and 29 June. Triangle Tire USA is opening its first US warehouse in Madison, Tennessee to supply off-the-road (OTR), medium and heavy truck as well as passenger and light truck tyres to its distributors and dealers. The 53,000 square-foot facility allows for future expansion, according to Triangle.
Corrado Moglia has taken on a new position of responsibility within the tyre industry. He has swapped his position as managing director Europe at Giti Tire, a role in which he was responsible for the Chinese maker’s commercial vehicle tyre business within the region, for a role at another Chinese manufacturer. Moglia is now general manager Europe at Triangle Tyre.
China’s Supreme People’s Court has ruled in favour of Bridgestone Corporation in a lawsuit that investigated the alleged infringement of its tyre tread design rights by Chinese manufacturer Triangle Tyre Co., Ltd.
Triangle Tire’s initial public offering (IPO) got underway as planned on 9 September with the company becoming a public traded entity on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The listing became active 10 September 2016 following approval by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) on 19 August 2016.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) approved Triangle Tires’ most recent initial public offering (IPO) bid. Qingdao, Shandong Province-based tyre manufacturer Triangle was one of 13 firms to receive a CSRC go-ahead on Friday 19 August. The IPO is set to take place in Shanghai. An official IPO announcement is expected in September.
On Wednesday 8 June, Sameer Africa CEO Allan Walmsley told local newspapers that the firm, which makes Yana brand tyres, would earn higher margins contracting-manufacturing with tyre producers in China and India. No names were overtly mentioned, but an unnamed Indian firm that bid unsuccessfully Sameer during the last year is thought to be a key suitor. No date for the closure of production and transition to contract manufacturing has been given, but judging by the nature of speculation surrounding Sameer’s ownership and business in general it is likely to be an ongoing process.
A Chinese court has ruled in favour of Bridgestone Corporation in a lawsuit filed against the country’s largest privately-owned tyre maker, Triangle Tyre Co., Ltd. The case involved Triangle Tyre’s use of a tread pattern that shared more than a passing resemblance to an existing Bridgestone pattern.
