Autogem’s managing director and National Tyre Distributors Association south east region chairman, Prashant Chopra, is to deliver a talk on TPMS at 15:40 on 8 June at Automechanika Birmingham in the Aftermarket Theatre. The title is “TPMS: a tidal wave of challenge and opportunity”.
Tyresure plans to show a complete range of TPMS products at Automechanika Birmingham. Automechanika 2016 takes place from 7 to 9 of June at the National Exhibition Center (NEC) in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The NTDA has announced that former champion rally driver, and well-known TV presenter, Penny Mallory is to close this year’s Tyre Industry Conference, to be held at the Vox Conference Centre, Birmingham on 6 October.
The London Motor Show will take place this year from the 5th-8th May at Battersea Evolution. There will be an exclusive preview evening on Thursday 5th May where HRH Prince Michael of Kent will cut the ribbon to open the Show.
Over the three days, some 35 car brands and 130 models will be showcasing the latest vehicles with prices ranging from £8,000, to in excess of £200,000, to cater to everyone’s pocket. There will also be unique supercars – on show in London for the first time.
The inaugural Automechanika Birmingham exhibition, to be held at the NEC, will be supporting BEN, the automotive industry charity. The event organisers will provide BEN with stand space free of charge and will support the organisation’s fund raising and awareness-building efforts with additional related facilities throughout the show.
Univar Specialty Consumables, a UK-based distributor of specialty products and lubricants, will be presenting its full range of speciality chemicals and filters on stand 9D59 at Automechanika Birmingham 2016, from June 7 – 9 at NEC Birmingham.
The Tyrexpo India tyre trade exhibition, first held as a biennial show in 2011, will now be held annually – from this year, the established event in Chennai is being supplemented by one in New Delhi.

Singapore-based brand Firenza will be exhibiting at Reifen 2016, showcasing its car, UHP, 4×4, winter, light commercial and truck tyres. At the same time a powerful and stunning display of Stamford Sport Wheels (SSW) from Thailand will also be showcased during the event.
SD-International (SDI) has announced plans to showcase its Pace, Toledo and Zeta private label ranges – which cover the car radial and truck and bus sectors – at this year’s Reifen show in Essen.
At the same SDI will be showcasing new AT and MT 4×4 tyre ranges, which will be available in both the Pace and Zeta variants, while the firm’s multilingual sales team will be revealing advance details of its new Zeta car tyre and SUV tyre ranges. Company representatives report that these have been specially produced for the American and ASEAN markets. Manufacturing of the new lines is set to commence in June of this year.
The Davanti brand is celebrating its first anniversary at Reifen 2016 in Essen in May. Following displays at shows including the Performance Car Show and Tyrexpo Africa, Davanti visits Essen with what is described as a “growing global following”. Launched at Autopromotec 2015 in Bologna, UK-based Davanti has seen impressive growth across multiple continents and is seeking to attract the crowds in Germany as its launches a new range of winter car, van and SUV tyres.
Of all the tyres fitted to prestige vehicles at the Geneva Motor Show, 51 per cent were made by Pirelli. Pirelli’s premium vehicle share at the show was 32 per cent. According to Pirelli general manager, operations, Gregorio Borgo the Geneva shares are pretty much the same as Pirelli’s real-world market share. Now consider the fact that registration of prestige marques (the most exclusives brands) have increased seven-fold since 2000. During the same period, the registrations of premium marques have tripled. Meanwhile, general market registrations are only 1.5 times greater than they were at the turn of the millennium. With this in mind, you can see why Pirelli was keen to preview its latest P Zero tyre in the context of the Geneva motor show and why the company is emphasising so-called “marked tyres” more than ever.
Bridgestone intends to jointly present both its tyre and industrial products at next month’s Bauma show in Munich. This is the first time the company has displayed products from both its two divisions together at a European trade show; the company says the content and layout of its more than 200 square metre booth will reflect the goal of “expanding the traditional trade fair role of product display towards an advisory role, offering customers a wide range of premium rubber products from a single supplier.”
WheelRight is to showcase its tyre pressure monitoring solution at the CV Show (26-28 April, NEC Birmingham – stand 5H130) for the first time following its live trial at motorway services on the M6
Developed in conjunction with Highways England, the technology recently concluded a successful year-long trial at WelcomeBreak Keele services on the southbound M6. As part of this landmark study, WheelRight’s solution measured more than 150,000 tyres – 50,000 of which were from HGVs.
The North American Tire & Retread Expo is being held in New Orleans from 19 to 21 April. An education conference is being held alongside the exhibition in the mornings and the organisers have just revealed the programme schedule.
