Tyre Pressure Monitoring System company Hamaton will return to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (Sema) Show at the Las Convention Center between 31 October and 3 November, 2023 (booth 41129 of the Global Tire Expo in the South Hall Lower). Hamaton will showcase its new Cloud-Pro TPMS system alongside its full TPMS product range, including diagnostic tools and an extensive range of valves, workshop tools and TPMS consumables.
Fruehauf Inc. (Fruehauf) is recalling certain 2025 Composite trailers equipped with the Tire Pilot Plus tyre pressure regulation systems (TPRS) in the USA. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) documentation 786 trailers are affected and all eight tyres on affected trailers “may experience a loss of tyre pressure while driving faster than 45 mph.”
Hamaton has launched a new TPMS sensor for trucks, trailers, and buses. The EU-Pro Truck 1.0 sensors are also available in the UK through the Tyresure brand.
Wheely-Safe’s intelligent tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) has already proved a wise investment at Frank Redman & Sons – saving the firm from two costly and potentially dangerous tyre blow outs. The Bedfordshire-based aggregates business – a contract haulier for Tarmac Group – is in the process of rolling out the technology across its fleet of eight-wheel tippers and 6×2 tractor units to improve the health & safety of its operation, reduce downtime and help cut fuel costs.
With DP World handling more than 1.8 million containers each year from its deep-water Southampton port facility, maximising efficiency and minimising downtime is key. That’s why DP World Southampton recently extended its partnership with Goodyear to retrofit TPMS across its port operations, including over 80 straddle carriers. DP World has worked with Goodyear for 20 years and the partnership has extended from using Goodyear’s bespoke port tyres to a full-service partnership that involves its latest technology.
Goodyear is showcasing its premium OTR tyres and solutions for construction and industrial machinery at steinexpo 2023 (23-26 August in Homberg, Germany). Goodyear will showcase its Powerload, GP-3E, Omnitrac Heavy Duty, and TL-4A OTR tyres, alongside its TPMS Heavy Duty solution on stand (B81) in the open-air area of the fair. “We offer a large portfolio of high-performance tyres for industrial and construction machinery. For us, steinexpo is the perfect opportunity to present a selection of our OTR tyre segment and to enter into a valuable personal exchange directly with our customers,” says Octavian Velcan, managing director OTR & Aviation EMEA at Goodyear.
GTS, an Icelandic coach company and tour operator, reports that it has improved the safety of its operation and made significant financial savings since fitting its vehicles with Wheely-Safe technology.
The ContiConnect Live digital solution now offers remote, real time tyre monitoring for truck trailers. The system is equally suitable for freestanding and coupled trailers and utilises a telematics unit to record tyre sensor data and send it to the ContiConnect portal. This data provides continuous information about tyre inflation and temperature.
Schrader has launched a new aftermarket TPMS sensor for Iveco trucks. According to Schrader, the new OE replacement sensor accurately measures tyre pressure and temperature, setting a “new standard for precision and reliability.”

Protyre’s Liam Healy and Hometyre’s Craig Schwartz were crowned TPMS Experts in the large and small retailer categories respectively, while Lewis Marshall from Formula One Autocentres prevailed in the under-23s category of Autogem’s second competition to find the country’s leading tyre pressure monitoring system technicians and raise standards and awareness within the industry. More than 1,000 retail sites entered Under Pressure ’23, with 12 technicians beating hundreds to make the final, putting their problem-solving skills to the test at the Pirelli Performance Centre (PPC) in Burton-upon-Trent on Wednesday 28 June. The finalists were praised for detecting various TPMS faults in a quick and efficient manner and communicating them clearly thereafter. Following a successful first outing, Autogem expanded the competition with its third award, focused on young and emerging talent.
Steve Hodges is the new marketing manager at Hamaton Ltd. He joined the tyre pressure monitoring system and valve supplier in May 2023 and brings more than 20 years of marketing experience into his new role. Hodges has worked in a wide variety of industries from technology companies, fast moving consumer goods, financial services, and IT, most recently as the events and marketing manager for Leicester Arena, home of the Leicester Riders basketball team.
Cerebrum Sensor Technologies reports that it has launched its Intelligent Tire Solutions IoT tyre sensor technology with “leading vehicle and tyre OEMs”. Cerebrum’s full suite of solutions utilize tyre sensors and proprietary algorithms to monitor tyre conditions including pressure, temperature, tread health, load, alignment and more.
Goodyear is launching DrivePoint Heavy Duty tyre monitoring solution to help container handling maintenance managers improve preventive tyre maintenance and reduce vehicle downtime. According to the company, Goodyear DrivePoint Heavy Duty is based around durable hardware and user-friendly mobile and web applications. It uses technology proven in the truck industry but upscaled and adapted for use on larger container handling machines such as reach stackers, straddle carriers and automated guided vehicles (AGV).
Autogem is urging thousands of automotive technicians from across the UK to enter Autogem’s competition to find leading Tyre Pressure Monitoring System experts. Following the success of Autogem’s inaugural TPMS Expert contest last year, the company has changed up a gear with its Under Pressure ’23 event, featuring qualifying rounds between April 19 and 21 and a grand finale to be held on June 28, at a top secret location, to be announced in the coming weeks. Autotech Training and CAM Systems are official sponsors of the competition, with categories to include Large Tyre Retailer, Small Tyre Retailer and a Young TPMS Expert element for the first time. A range of premium prizes will be awarded to the winners awards up for grabs for a second year.
