Toyo Tire (UK) Ltd. is celebrating its official sponsorship partner’s first Premier League Title. Leicester City FC’s confirmation as this year’s champions earlier this month has been widely recognised as an odds-defying event, and this is reflected in the latest chapter of Toyo Tires’ short-video series. Titled ‘Surprising the world – Only those who keep on driving can change the world’, the video was released globally this week and depicts the fierce determination of players such as Jamie Vardy and the passion of the club’s manager, Claudio Ranieri.

Toyota approves Toyo NanoEnergy tyres as Prius OE fitments

In addition to approving a trio of Bridgestone tyres for the new Prius, Toyota has homologated four Toyo NanoEnergy models for original equipment fitment on its latest generation hybrid. Two sizes are available for models sold in the European market; the NanoEnergy J61 in size 195/65 R15 91H and the NanoEnergy R41 in size 215/45 R17 87W.

US tyre makers urge climate change action

In a statement issued on 29 December 2015, the heads of five major North American tyre manufacturers called for the US government to not only meet the commitments it made in the recent Paris climate change talks, but to “use its economic might to drive strengthened commitments over time and follow through from other countries around the globe.”

Toyo Tire chairman Komaguchi becomes 2nd representative director

Toyo Tire & Rubber has decided to increase the number of company representative directors from one to two in order to strengthen its corporate governance system in light of group growth and expansion. Canadian agency fines Toyo Tire for bid-rigging conspiracy

Tyre and rubber component manufacturer Toyo Tire & Rubber has been fined CA$1.7 million by Canada’s Competition Bureau for its participation in an international bid‑rigging conspiracy related to the supply of anti‑vibration components to Toyota Motor Corp, and on 9 December pleaded guilty to three counts of bid rigging under the country’s Competition Act.

Toyo revises corporate roles

Toyo Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. has made the following changes to its array of corporate officers and other executives. All roles are effective 1 November.

Tetsua Kuze is now corporate officer and general manager of Toyo’s DT Planning Division, DT Business Group Headquarters, DT Strategy and Planning Dept. and DT Business Group. Kuze had previously been senior corporate officer and general manager of the administrative division as well as general manager of the Corporate Planning Division overseeing corporate purchasing division headquarters. He remains deputy general manager, Seismic Isolation Rubber Division

Toyo renews Leicester City Football Club partnership

Toyo Tires has announced that is has decided to renew its UK partnership with Leicester City Football Club into the 2015 and 2016 season. The partnership of Toyo Tires and Leicester City Football Club will see the Japanese company continue its commercial presence at the King Power stadium, while the distinctive blue branding will also be visible on the Foxes’ first team training wear.

The Board of Directors at Toyo Tire & Rubber today resolved to hold an Extraordinary Meeting of Shareholders on 12 November in order to present its candidates for the positions of chairman and president. Shareholders will vote on whether to approve Katsumi Komaguchi as the company’s new chairman and Takashi Shimizu as its president.
