Toyo is supporting the Toyota Auto Body Team for the fourth consecutive year in the 2024 Dakar Rally. The manufacturer has supplied the Toyo Open Country MT/R in size LT285/70R17 116/113P for fitment on the team’s two Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR. The team will compete over 5,000km of special stage and nearly 8,000km in total before the conclusion of the event in Yanbu on the shores of the Red Sea on 19 January.
Toyo Tires has announced that a further 12 fitments of its popular and effective Open Country M/T tyre have gained Professional Off Road (POR) accreditation, allowing them to be listed and sold outside of current EU labelling requirements. The tyre is already hugely popular with many off-road professionals, including multiple Dakar and Baja winner, Robby Gordon. The tyre is also being used this year by the Isuzu UK Works Rally Team, on appropriate events.
Toyo Tires will be the technical partner to Isuzu UK for the pick-up truck manufacturer’s team in the Britpart MSA British Cross Country Championship (BCCC) 2014. The deal means the Japanese manufacturer’s motorsport team will supply the Isuzu UK rally team with tyres all season, as well as advising on set-up and usage.
