Following yesterday’s news that Toyo executive Tamotsu Sakuramoto will swap his European responsibilities for Japan-based roles as of 1 January 2014, it has emerged that the move has triggered something of a reshuffle in the European and UK operations.
Tamotsu Sakuramoto will swap his European responsibilities for Japan-based roles as of 1 January 2014, reports Toyo Tire & Rubber. Sakuramoto will be replaced as general manager of Toyo Tire & Rubber’s Europe business unit by Takashi Shimizu, who is currently general manager of Toyo’s Tire Planning division and Tire Administration department; Shimizu will continue in these roles alongside his new position.
Toyo Tyre (UK) Limited has confirmed that Nick Manning has stepped down as managing director of the company with immediate effect. According to company representatives he will officially leave the company at the end of December 2012 in order to “pursue other interests.” There has been no indication of whether or not these other interest will be inside or outside the tyre industry.
