Visitors to The Tire Cologne 2024 encountered numerous upgrades and additions to both the Giti and GT Radial tyre brands. Members of the Giti Tire team shared details of these developments with us during the show.
Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing will start an unprecedented five BMW cars in the 52nd ADAC Ravenol 24h Nürburgring endurance race, including the high-profile ‘Girls Only – Ready to rock the Green Hell’ team. The team qualified with two podium finishes across four races in their BMW M4 GT4, and regular drivers Carrie Schreiner, Fabienne Wohlwend, Pippa Mann, and Beitske Visser will again lead the team on the track, with team manager Nicole Willems leading the entirely female team. All five Giti-supported cars will race on the GitiCompete GTR1 tyres, part of the manufacturer’s extensive competition tyre range. It adds that this proven technology transfers to its range for passenger cars, especially focusing on how its motorsport tyres can inform more sustainable motoring.
Giti Tire has increased the available “Powered by Sparco” fitments of its GitiSportS2 ultra-high performance tyre in Europe, adding 22 new dimensions to the existing eight. This version of the tyre, which targets sports cars and premium SUVs with low ratio sizes between 225/45R17 and 315/30R22. All sizes are rated A for wet grip and the majority are speed-rated Y. In total, the GitiSportS2 is now available in 63 sizes with rims from 16-22”, section widths from 195-315, series sizes from 30-55, including SUV, and speed indices from V-Y.
Giti Tire has described its visit to the 51st ADAC TotalEnergies 24-hour Nürburgring race as “a huge weekend” for its motorsport division. The manufacturer is supporting its all-female racing team again and will ramp up its new brand building partnership with Sparco. This means that as well as participating in the event, Giti will have its broadest selection of marketing activities at the event. Stefan Brohs, marketing director – Europe for Giti Tire, promises a “full communication strategy” designed to launch the “Giti – Powered by Sparco” slogan for in-person and online viewers.
Giti Tire has signed a multi-year global co-branding agreement with Sparco, one the world’s leading manufacturers of motorsport safety systems and racing equipment. The Giti brand becomes global automotive tyre partner of the Italian brand under the deal, while the slogan “Giti – Powered by Sparco” will appear on the sidewall of key UHP sizes from 2024. The development of these products will form a “bridge” between the businesses, according to Sparco.
