ATEQ has released a software update for its VT36, VT46 (including branded versions), VT55 and VT56 models. The update includes new and updated vehicle models, OE-sensor and relearn information and new Aftermarket sensors:
Hamaton’s latest TPMS sensor generation, the EU-Pro Hybrid 3.5 possesses a technologically advanced feature – a multiprotocol app. According to the company, the multiprotocol-app contains pre-programmed protocols for many popular German vehicles, including BMW, Mercedes and Smart. Sensors come ready to install – additional programming isn’t necessary. Therefore, garages can dramatically reduce the time it takes to fit sensors, which will be hugely beneficial during busy tyre changeover seasons.

Volkswagen AG intends to group more than 5,000 digital experts together in its new “Car.Software” unit with Group responsibility for software in the vehicle by 2025. The company plans to develop significantly more software in the car and for vehicle-related services itself and to boost the in-house share of software development from the current figure of less than 10 per cent to at least 60 per cent by 2025.
TechMan Garage Management Systems has joined the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF). Built from within a garage environment specifically for garages and workshops, TechMan offers a management solution for workshops looking to improve and streamline processes, and ultimately increase their bottom line.
CAM is expanding its software development team with the appointment of John Reed as a senior developer. According to the company, his appointment “highlights the importance the business places on the CAM ecosystem in creating products that support all forms of business, from multi depot retail outlets to mobile businesses that bring services to them”.
Compilator has acquired Inforoute, a provider of software for fleet servicing companies, such as Truck Tyre Manager Vision and Inspector Link. The company said that the acquisition is part of its continued investment in fleet services for tyre businesses. Adding Inforoute to its business is a means of leading that expansion, Compilator adds, with Inforoute online fleet inspection software to be launched in all Compilator markets across Northern Europe.
A major supplier of tyre management systems into Spain is integrating e-jobsheet, the open-access, digital tablet-based service work platform for truck, bus and van, into its software. NETIXCloud’s partnership with CAM will enable its Spanish dealer customers to update stock efficiently in their dealer systems while simultaneously updating data in Fleetbridge if they are carrying out work for Bridgestone.
Motherwell-based Auchinlea Tyres Ltd is participating in CAM’s new fitter-force digital tablet technology to remove back office costs and inaccuracies associated with the manual completion of service work, while improving its customer service through operational responsiveness.
Garage management specialist TechMan has helped Swift Motor Services in Worthing to achieve a “record four months” since going live with the system in July.
TechMan, the garage management specialist, now offers card services provider integration, linking PDQ card terminals with its software. After meeting with a national fast fit network, TechMan said it discovered significant sums of money were being written off by garages each year in miss-keyed or malicious transactions using PDQ terminals. In response, TechMan developed a solution it says is flexible enough to work for both single branch independents and national chains.
TecAlliance and Continental have developed a prototype of the first digital voice assistant for vehicle workshops as part of a joint innovation initiative. The innovative voice assistance system supports mechanics during the initial vehicle inspection. The companies are presenting the proof of concept at Automechanika.
Two recent winners of prestigious industry awards have given credit to garage management system TechMan. Berkshire-based Shaun Miller went one better than his 2017 runner-up finish in winning Top Technician 2018, while Cedar Garage of Worthing was the inaugural winner of the Top Garage award. Both say Techman, which was developed by independent garage owners, has helped their businesses develop.
Cork-based S Tyres Ltd. is investing in CAM Cloud to host its Cameo POS, stock, billing and ledgers system. According to the company, hosted Cameo will provide the Republic of Ireland’s premier Bandag agent with a managed service that ensures quality, hassle-free maintenance of its server and backup solution. It will enable S Tyres to connect directly with key partners such as Bridgestone.
