Tarsus Group has acquired the TyreXpo series of events from Singapore-based organiser, SingEx. According to the company, the acquisition adds “a complementary brand to the automotive events in the Tarsus portfolio and gives the group access to an adjacent market”. Terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
Tyrexpo UK organisers Singex have decided to cancel this year’s event due to the “current uncertain climate”. The announcement was made in a letter to partners – including Tyres & Accessories – which expressed the company’s disappointment and apologies that this decision was necessary.
It is now just over four months (19 weeks) until the UK tyre and automotive/garage market sectors has its own dedicated trade show once again and – according to the show’s organisers, SingEx Exhibitions – the interest from potential exhibitors and visitors continues to gather momentum.
Andrew Tan has announced his upcoming departure from SingEx Exhibitions, the company behind the Tyrexpo series of trade fairs. The project director for SingEx Exhibitions’ Automotive & Commodities Cluster will leave SingEx at the end of this week.
We’re spoiled for choice when it comes to tyre trade exhibitions, and therefore the organisers behind these shows must compete to convince the industry that theirs is the one to visit. Tyrepress.com recently attended Tyrexpo Asia, and spoke with project director Andrew Tan about what he and his team have planned for the fair and for the Tyrexpo franchise in order to set it apart from the rest.
DriveRightData CEO Richard Bailey will be attending Tyre Expo Asia in Singapore between 21st and 23rd March and is inviting existing and prospective clients to meet with him in person at what he called the “must attend event” in Asia.
The Tyrexpo India tyre trade exhibition, first held as a biennial show in 2011, will now be held annually – from this year, the established event in Chennai is being supplemented by one in New Delhi.
With the opening of Tyrexpo Africa on 8 March 2016, show organiser Singex offering a Pre-Registration Lucky Draw. By registering before 15 January 2016, visitors stand a chance of winning a night’s hotel accommodation at the Garden Court Sandon City Hotel in Johannesburg. The hotel is located is close proximity to the Sandton Convention Centre where the show will be held.
Pre-registration for Tyrexpo Africa 2016, which takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg between 8 and 10 March, opened on 7 December 2015. The show is targeted at companies focusing on the sourcing of tyres, tyre repair and maintenance equipment, and tyre accessories for purchase within the next three months.
The winners of the 2015 Tyre Industry Awards were announced during the 86th NTDA Annual Dinner on 1 October following the new one-day Tyre Industry Conference at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Birmingham. Attendance at the dinner set a new record, with 60 tables sold out. The speaker and presenter of the awards was former England Rugby Union international, amateur dancer and current television pundit, Austin Healey, who added some trademark irreverence to proceedings. The Awards were also live-tweeted as they were announced on the @Tyrepress Twitter feed. The awards were sponsored this year by Sailun Tyres.
Visitor numbers at this year’s Tyrexpo India are 54 per cent up over those for the previous show, reports organiser SingEx Exhibitions Pte Ltd. During the three-day event a total of 2,600 industry specialists from 30 countries passed through the gates at the Chennai Trade Centre to visit the more than 100 confirmed trade exhibitors and to attend scheduled programmes such as TyreTalk. Prior to the show, the organiser stated its expectation of around 2,500 visitors at Tyrexpo India 2015.
In partnership with SingEx Exhibitions, IRSG will launch the newly revamped World Rubber Summit (WRS) 2015, which is to be held in Singapore from 24 to 25 March 2015 at MAX Atria@Singapore EXPO. Held under the umbrella of “World Rubber Week”, the event takes place alongside Tyrexpo Asia, IRSG’s Assembly of Nations and other related industry seminars and networking receptions.
Registration for Tyrexpo Asia 2015 has now opened. Tyrexpo Asia has come some way since the inaugural show in 1996. As Asia’s longest established tyre industry event, Tyrexpo Asia has grown steadily in size and popularity during this period.
The organiser of Brityrex International 2014, SingEx-ECI International, said that it will seek to take the show “to the next level” following feedback from the 2014 edition of the show. A foundation for increased success has been laid by an expanded programme of informative and engaging discussions in the form of TyreTalk seminars, enhanced product variety, numerous product launches and first time appearances at a UK tradeshow, the organiser said.
Kings Road Tyres was appointed as the exclusive distributor of Aeolus passenger car tyres at the beginning of 2014, and the company has announced the launch of this venture as a focal point of its Brityrex International 2014 activity, presented on its own stand. Primarily known as a distributor of commercial and agricultural tyres, KRT plans to get behind its new PCR product range with a package for retailers, called the Aeolus Valued Partner scheme. KRT says it will offer exclusive and innovative benefits, including an Aeolus-themed merchandising package, to fit out a reception area.
