The long-awaited Davanti winter range will soon be with us. When Tyres & Accessories caught up with the Davanti Tyres team at Tyrexpo Asia, they reported that final testing had been successfully concluded and volume production was scheduled to commence in June. After two years of development, four winter patterns – PCR, UHP, SUV and van – are now ready, with a total of 52 sizes to be released in 2017.

Point S has opened an Asia office Singapore and appointed Ler Hwee Tiong as chief representative. The new Point S representative office is located within the French Chamber of Commerce in the city centre of Singapore and will coordinate activities within the Asian region. Point S push into Asia is expected to be “patient, and adapted to the local working environment of each market”.
This is World Rubber Week, and one of three key events taking place as part of the week is Tyrexpo Asia. The Singapore-based tyre trade exhibition opened this morning, and welcoming exhibitors and visitors to the 11th edition of Tyrexpo Asia, project director Andrew Tan expressed the expectation that the show would be attended by “close to 5,000 tyre industry professionals from around the region.” More than 250 firms from over 20 countries are also exhibiting at Tyrexpo 2017, he added.

Tyrexpo Asia’s organisers have welcomed China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA) as its official supporting association. Established in 1985, CRIA has over 1,200 existing members in the Chinese tyre and rubber sector. Pirelli will bring its P Zero Yellow soft, Red supersoft, and Purple ultrasoft Formula One tyres to the fifteenth round of the 2016 Formula One season in Singapore. Pirelli mandates one set of the Yellow soft and Red supersoft tyres must be used during the race, while one set of the Purple ultrasoft tyres are assigned to the third qualifying round.

The organiser of Tyrexpo Asia 2013 recorded a “substantial increase in visitors” at the last show in Singapore.
