Schaeffler is inviting workshop owners to send at least one technician to Automechanika Birmingham 2019, as the global original equipment manufacturer and supplier urges independent workshops to futureproof their businesses.

Repxpert Alistair Mason recently piloted one of Schaeffler’s technical support vehicles to Oldfields Garage in Leominster, a workshop that has been fitting Schaeffler products successfully for a number of years, in order to provide some training to its dedicated team of technicians.

Automechanika Birmingham will return to the NEC from 4 to 6 June 2019, with many major industry players signed up to exhibit. The show organisers say the 2019 edition looks likely to increase in size ahead of the event’s move to a biennial format starting in 2021.
Schaeffler has launched a new packaging design. The reworked design is being introduced step-by-step at all Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket production sites around the world. To highlight component quality, the boxes now feature high-resolution product photos, and the Schaeffler brand logo has been added in a more prominent position. The packaging retains familiar LuK, INA and FAG colour scheme and logos.
Andy Savva – ‘The Garage Inspector’ – has become Schaeffler’s first UK brand ambassador. Savva has been supporting Schaeffler’s Repxpert team by presenting at various trade fairs and training events over recent months, sharing his expertise on building up a workshop brand and profile, while also offering tips and best practice techniques on how to make a business profitable.
Schaeffler will look to the future with a range of innovative mixed and augmented reality exhibits when Automechanika Frankfurt opens its doors in September.
The latest Schaeffler Repxpert training event has been labelled a ‘great success’ by technicians who participated in the recent INA and FAG course at a packed-out Repxpert Academy.
