Independent tyre distributor EG Wholesale has announced the opening of a new warehouse facility in East Peckham, Tonbridge. One of ten members of independent tyre wholesaler Grouptyre, EG Wholesale covers a wide area across the South and considers the opening of the East Peckham site a “milestone for the company” as it aims to enhance its service coverage across Kent and Greater London.
Denmead Tyre Services has become the latest member of Elite Garages, one of the south’s leading independent tyre, MOT, car service and forecourt operators. The business, situated north of Portsmouth, is the 17th location within the Elite Garages group.
Independent tyre distributor EG Wholesale has opened a new warehouse in Newport, Isle of Wight. The company is one of 10 members of leading independent tyre wholesaler Grouptyre. The new EG Wholesale site is located at 44-50 South Street, Newport, PO30 1JG. Managing director Richard Whittemore said, “The central location in Newport is fantastic and allows us to provide a reliable delivery service across the whole island. As well as reliable delivery, we have excellent product availability and competitive pricing, which are encompassed in Grouptyre’s ‘National Strength, Local Service’ philosophy. Independent tyre distributor and one of Grouptyre’s 10 member EG Wholesale has opened its new warehouse in Partridge Green, West Sussex. Colin Obbard, operations and logistics manager said, “It has been a long time coming finding a suitable location for an expanding wholesale operation.” Grouptyre states that “continued investment” by members, “such as new warehousing, is one of the primary reasons for the continual growth of the company, who consistently strive to offer more to the retailer.” EG Wholesale is a division of a motor trade group that has petrol stations, convenience stores, property rentals and workshops. The family run business has been in business for over 40 years with a turnover of £48m and 230 members of staff.
