Amateur motorsport association the BTRDA has appointed Darren Spann as Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship manager from 2022, following the retirement of Jane Evans at the end of the 2021 season.
Pirelli will continue as presenting sponsor of and sole tyre supplier to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, having signed a renewed deal with series organiser MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) to extend the partnership for a further five years through to the 2025 season. Pirelli also remains the title sponsor of the Superstock and Junior Superstock classes.
The BTRDA and Protyre share that the 2020 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship has been cancelled owing to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
Protyre shares that the opening round of the 2020 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship has been postponed owing to the coronavirus outbreak. The Legend Fires North West Stages were scheduled to take place on Saturday 20 March.
The Federation Internationale de l’Automobile has today revealed the eight manufacturers who will enter the all-electric FIA Formula E Championship in season two – further increasing the series’ credentials as a test bed for the development of electric vehicle technology. For the inaugural 2014/2015 season, the 10 Formula E teams all compete using identical single-seaters – the Spark-Renault SRT_01E – utilising a powertrain by McLaren Electronic Systems. From the 2015/2016 season, the series will become an open championship allowing manufacturers to pursue their own in-house innovations, beginning with the development of bespoke powertrains. Michelin is currently the tyre supplier to the series, alongside global supply partner Protyre Motorsport, as well as a founding partner. Having started in Beijing last year, the first season ends in Central London, with a circuit expected to be formed within Battersea Park to host the final two rounds.
Michelin has named Protyre Motorsport as its global tyre supply partner in the inaugural FIA Formula E championship. The Winchester based firm will supply and service the Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyre, which has been specially developed for the series. Protyre experts will co-ordinate logistics and trackside assistance to all teams over the 10 rounds of the innovative series.
