BBS is launching a Porsche-specific 20-inch, centre lock version of its CH-R design. The “Nürburgring Edition” of the CH-R wheel will be available in 18, 19 and 20-inch sizes for a wide variety of vehicles.

Porsche’s success in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) has been supported by its tyre partner, Michelin. The Stuttgart marque claimed top prizes in the LM P1 and LM GTE Pro classes this year, following its return to world class endurance racing in 2014 after a year of pressure from fellow Michelin runners Audi (in LM P1) and Ferrari (in LM GTE Pro). Michelin states that it provided tyres developed to meet the specific needs of its different manufacturer teams in the championship, which permits open competition between tyre firms.
AirREX has released its latest comprehensive, fully reversible air-suspension kit for almost all variants of the Porsche 964. The new kit fits all versions of the car, in widebody, coupe and cabriolet guises, offering a near ‘plug and play’ fitment to enthusiasts. As with all AirREX digital air management systems, the Porsche 964 kit is supplied fully assembled and leak tested from the factory.
Bilstein has launched its Clubsport coilover suspension for the Porsche 911 GT3 (991 Series). The suspension underwent meticulous tuning and adjustment work during a two-week field test on the test and trial circuit in Papenburg (Emsland). Bilstein technicians tuned the high-end coilover suspension to the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus in the GT3.
The Porsche Team followed up Le Mans 24 Hours victory with a one-two finish at the 2015 6 Hours of Nürburgring. While the N°17 Porsche 919 Hybrid was driven to victory by Timo Bernhard, Marc Webber, Brendon Hartley, their N°18 teammates overcame three Stop & Go penalties (of five, 30 and 60 seconds), for excessive fuel consumption, to steal second place from Audi Sport thanks, in part, to the tyre strategy that was adopted for Switzerland’s Neel Jani on Lap 143. Michelin supplied a total of 2,400 tyres to its 23 partners at the event, with bespoke products designed to suit the particular needs of Audi Sport, Porsche Motorsport and Toyota Racing teams’ vehicles.
Apollo Tyres has received recognition for its ‘Air Master by Vredestein’ spoiler. The invention was given a DKG Product Award in the ‘Technical Rubber Products and Tyres’ category at this year’s International Rubber Conference in Nuremberg, Germany.
Following up its third place finish in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Falken Motorsports has secured a second endurance racing podium. Peter Dumbreck and Alexandre Imperatori defied temperatures well above 35°C to finish second at the fourth round of the VLN series during the weekend’s action (4-5 July) on the Nordschleife.
Falken Tyres achieved its aim of a first podium at the Nuerburgring 24 Hours. The team of Peter Dumbreck, Martin Ragginger, Alex Imperatori and Wolf Henzler guided Falken’s Porsche 997 GT3 R from 19th on the grid to a podium slot, improving on its fourth place finish in 2014. The team’s number 44 Porsche – the only car on the grid to use Falken tyres – rose gradually through the field overnight, dealing well with typically varied Eifel region weather. Pirelli has confirmed its deal to sponsor the Village on the Curves at the Le Mans 24-hour race will continue as part of the Italian tyre firm’s agreement with Porsche Club GB. The Village on the Curves is a camping village located on the well-known Porsche Curves, formerly known as the Porsche Owners International Village. Porsche Club GB and Pirelli maintaining a significant presence at this point on the circuit in 2014.
Pirelli has unveiled new ultra-high performance tyre original equipment homologations for the latest Porsche Macan. The Italian manufacturer’s P Zero, Scorpion Verde and Scorpion Verde All Season are available for original fitment on Porsche’s compact SUV sports car in all conditions.
Porsche AG has decided to equip its new 911 GT3 RS with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 ultra-high performance tyres. Michelin said the new 911 would run 265/35 ZR20 (front) and 325/30 ZR21 (rear) tyres. The manufacturer says of the latest generation of road-legal track tyres that they “blur the line between motorsport and road tyres.” Porsche also fits the Pilot Sport Cup 2 as original equipment on its recent 918 Spyder, Cayman GT4 and 911 GT3 models.
Korean tyre maker Hankook Tire has gained its first Porsche original equipment fitment with the supply of two size combinations to the Macan. The Porsche deal covers 18 and 19-inch versions of the Ventus S1 evo² SUV; the Hankook tyres will be supplied in either sizes 235/60 R 18 for the front wheels and 255/55 R 18 for the rear or 235/55 R 19 front and 255/50 R 19 rear.
Tarox has developed a new front brake upgrade for the latest 991 Series Porsche 911 3.8 Carrera S. With greater emphasis on weight reduction through the use of aluminium in the car’s construction, the new Porsche has inspired Tarox to develop a new two-piece billet steel and anodised alloy hub structure to directly replace the factory single-piece disc.
Porsche AG has selected the Yokohama Advan Sport V105 as original equipment on the Cayenne crossover. Yokohama Rubber will supply the tyre in size 295/35R21 107Y and says it developed the original equipment tyre together with Porsche – a collaboration denoted by the ‘N-2’ mark on the sidewall of the Advan Sport V105 fitted on the Cayenne.
