All-season tyres are becoming increasingly popular, especially among drivers of four-wheel drive vehicles who seek a reliable, weather-independent solution for their everyday journeys. But not every all-season tyre lives up to its promises. Auto Bild Allrad has tested ten tyre models in size 245/45 R18 to determine how they perform under various conditions, including snow, wet roads, and dry surfaces.
Some people criticised the recent ADAC all-season tyre test for not featuring newer models such as the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6, Continental AllSeasonContact 2, and Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3. This exclusion was due to the club’s lengthy lead times. In contrast, Auto Bild Sportscars included at least two of these tyres in its spring 2024 comparative evaluation of all-season tyres. Additionally, Italian magazine Al Volante recently published an all-season tyre test featuring all three newcomers, with the freshest of the trio snatching victory.
Pirelli will be present at The Tire Cologne 2024 to exhibit new products and technologies for high performance cars and motorcycles on a 400 square metre stand. Between 4 and 6 June, the company will inhabit Stand A-020-B-029 within Hall 06.1.
Sales of all-season tyres continue to grow, with these products finding favour with both private and fleet customers. For UK motorists, their appeal stems from the reality that the weather isn’t warm and sunny every day of the year; in other parts of Europe, all-season tyres offer an alternative to seasonal tyre swaps. Introducing the new Cinturato All Season SF3, a tyre Pirelli has “designed specifically for city drivers of medium and compact cars who need a safe solution all year round.” The SF3 arrives in April in sizes for 16- to 20-inch rim diameters, following on from the Cinturato All Season SF2 that debuted just three years ago.
