German football club Bayer 04 Leverkusen is entering the next two seasons with a new premium and tyre partner. Tyre maker Ceat is joining the Bundesliga team and DFB Cup holders with immediate effect, succeeding previous tyre partner Kumho Tire following the planned conclusion of this cooperation at the end of last season. The newly agreed premium partnership with Ceat is set to run until 30 June 2026.
Ceat recently appointed Renji Issac, Senior Vice President R&D and Technology in India. Issac took over from Peter Becker, Senior Vice President R&D and Technology effective 1 May. Becker was globally responsible for quality tyre development and implementation in Europe from July 2017 to 30 April 2023.
Indian tyre maker Ceat Ltd. says it anticipates a greater presence in “Europe’s niche market segments” thanks to the recent addition of low profile 19- and 20-inch UHP tyres to its portfolio. Ceat mentions Germany as a market of particular interest for these products.
Kumho Tire Europe has issued a statement regarding Peter Becker’s intention to leave the company. Becker will reportedly part ways with Kumho at his own request this summer; the tyre maker says specific details regarding his future career plans are “not known at the moment.”
