Klarius Products won Employer of the Year Award at the 2024 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards. Sponsored by the West Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, the award recognises progress the business has made engaging with its workforce and providing opportunities for progression.
In response to the ever-changing market demands and to offer a “more personalized services to customers”, the board of directors of SD-International has promoted Leo Gu to the role of managing director. Leo Gu brings 23 years of extensive tyre sales and brand management, with company representatives stating that “his leadership and expertise will infuse new vitality and direction for the company”.
Following on from the news of the company’s 2-billion-yuan investment in a new passenger car tyre factory in China to serve the domestic market, The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. also made a related personnel change.
Continental Tyres has promoted its former regional truck tyre general sales manager to the role of truck tyre sales director for the UK and Ireland. The new appointment will see Grant Willman head up Continental Tyres’ truck sales team from its UK headquarters in Datchet.
moveero has announced two new additions to its European sales team, with Hans-Christian Hauerslev joining as business development manager and Giuseppe Grazioli appointed sales account manager.
On 15 May Chinese tyre manufacturer Linglong decided to appoint Xu Yongchao as vice president. The reason given by the tyre manufacturer was to “further enhance the company’s core competitiveness and combine it with the company’s business development needs,” but the company did not specify which particular part of the business the newly promoted executive would be responsible for.
A2 Tyre Supplies has engaged the services of Peter Poyntz-Roberts as the company’s new business development manager (BDM). Company representatives told Tyres & Accessories that the appointment of Poyntz-Roberts forms part of A2 Tyre Supplies’ ongoing expansion plans.
Vaculug chairman Haarjeev Singh Kandhari has been appointed to the board of the BTMA, with Vaculug representatives noting that Kandhari is the is the first Sikh to join the BTMA board.
Cimcorp has added Anne Happonen to its executive leadership team, as part of her appointment vice president of operations. Happonen’s experience includes responsibilities with Cargotec, Sandvik, and Patria where she has had “a strong hold on global megaprojects and leading diverse teams”.
David Geraghty has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) industrial and OTR wheelmaker moveero with immediate effect. Geraghty brings over 25 years’ experience in senior roles with multi-national, multi-billion-dollar organisations to the business, including his most recent position as president of Yokohama Off Highway Tires (YOHT), America, responsible for Aftermarket and OE operations.
Retreading supplier, Kraiburg Austria has been awarded the “Kununu Top Company” seal again in 2024 after also doing so in 2023. The seal recognises companies with high employee satisfaction and is awarded exclusively based on independent reviews on Kununu. Kununu means “blank slate” in Swahili and, according to the operators, “stands for all companies that have not yet been rated”. The platform, which was founded in Vienna, has been online since 2007 and currently employs around 130 people in Vienna, Porto, Berlin and Hamburg.
At the end of March, The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. announced the promotion of one of its senior managers, Masahiro Yuki, to the role of Deputy Head of Yokohama’s Tire Business Planning Division. The change, announced on 27 March 2024 became effective a day later on 28 March 2024.
Autotech Group founder Gavin White has become Automotive Ambassador in partnership with commercial finance broker Activate Business Finance. The announcement follows the recent news that White has stepped down from the day-to-day running of Autotech Group.
MAHA UK has named James Thompson as the company’s newest regional sales executive. Thomspson will be responsible for expanding MAHA UK’s presence in northern regions of the UK, nurturing relationships with both existing and potential clients, and promoting MAHA UK’s premium products and services.
Last September Autotech Group founder Gavin White revealed his brain tumour diagnosis. Now commenting that he is continuing treatment and “doctors remain pleased with my progress”, at that time, White also announced that succession plans for Autotech Group, due for implementation in 2024, would be accelerated. Now, the Autotech Group has announced that Simon King has been formally appointed to the position of company CEO and an executive team has been implemented.
