VMI Group has extended its Global Executive Board of VMI Group to four members, following the appointment of Mike Norman as chief commercial officer (CCO). In his role as CCO, Mike Norman will be responsible for all commercial activities of VMI worldwide.
Continental UK and Ireland has appointed Okan Tamer as its new managing director, effective 1 November 2018. The moves sees Tamer relocate from Turkey, where he was general manager responsible for the presence of the international automotive corporation in that country.
European FinTyre Distribution (EfTD) has appointed Nicola Melillo as Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs & Organization. In his new role, Melillo reports to Mauro Pessi, Group CEO. Here he will manage strategic areas such as HR & Organization, Information Technology, Communication, Legal e Compliance and Internal Audit.
Pneumatic Components (PCL) has appointed Bryan Fincham to the role of area sales manager to spearhead the business’ growth in the South. Fincham, who has over 20 years’ experience in sales across various sectors including automotive and FMCG, will focus on increasing sales in the South of England through new and organic business development.
Apollo Tyres’ presence in the truck tyre sector has been bolstered by the appointment of Steve Miller as TBR sales manager, bringing with him over 20 years’ experience, having worked for Kumho on reintroducing the TBR range in the UK, Bridgestone as a national fleet manager (commercial) and Michelin as a sales manager.
Gert Meylemans, the former head of PR and corporate communications at Bridgestone Europe, has become senior manager communications at Eurobat, the Association of European Automotive and Industrial Battery Manufacturers.
Former Goodyear Dunlop EMEA marketing and communications director, James Bailey, has joined a Birmingham-based PR, social media and communications agency Reeves, to lead a newly-created unit that will focus on the automotive, manufacturing and vehicle technology sectors.
Effective 1 October 2018, Jay Doubman, currently senior vice president, Corporate Strategy and Development, and president, Cabot Corporation Specialty Fluids segment, will assume responsibilities for leading the specialty carbons, fumed metal oxides, and aerogel product lines, as senior vice president and president, Performance Additives.
Effective Monday 16 July 2018, Mark Brickhill has become Klarius Group chief executive officer which covers Klarius Products, machine specialist KMT and related tools/consumables business Emissco. Brickhill is well known to the tyre industry having previously been Goodyear Dunlop UK MD and other executive positions within Goodyear’s EMEA operation.
European FinTyre Distribution Limited (EfTD) has appointed Massimiliano Messina as chief financial officer of the group.
Messina role makes him responsible for optimising the financial resources of the group and securing the synergy between its different companies. In addition, he will coordinate the merger and acquisition activity with the support of the management team and will report directly to Mauro Pessi, CEO of the group.
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) Laura K. Thompson is to retire in the first quarter of 2019 after 35 years of service.
Prometeon Tyre Group UK Ltd (PTG) has appointed Simon Michael as managing director. He will be based at the company’s head office in Burton on Trent. Simon Michael brings 23 years of tyre industry experience in the UK and Middle East into the role.
Matthew Smith has been appointed by the Al Dobowi Group as the new sales manager for UK, ROI and Nordic region. The distribution portfolio includes responsibility for the Infinity, Eternity and I-Link brands as well as “future opportunity brands”.
Cabot Corporation has announced that Eduardo Cordeiro, executive vice president, chief financial officer (CFO) and president of the Americas Region, will retire from Cabot at the end of 2018. He steps down from these roles effective 15 May 2018 at which time Erica McLaughlin, the company’s vice president of business operations for Cabot’s Reinforcement Materials segment and general manager of the tyre business, will become senior vice president and CFO. Cordeiro will remain with Cabot in an advisory capacity through the end of the year to assist in a smooth transition.
Pneumatic Components (PCL) has appointed Ken Holford to the newly-created role of UK Key account manager.
Holford will be the main point of contact for the established and future development of PCL’s growing account base. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having held sales positions spanning industrial consumables, capital equipment and tooling within the automotive and engineering sectors.
