Lancashire car parts distributor BBC Superfactors will open its new branch in Preston on Monday, 14 March, creating 15 new jobs. The branch, in Great George Street, is the seventh operated by the family run business, with further launches planned in the next six to 18 months. The new premises were occupied previously by Unipart Automotive, which collapsed into administration in July 2014.

Remus has expanded its range of exhaust systems with a fitment for the popular Audi A3 convertible 8V. The system’s features include a lightweight construction, options for both the 1.4 and 1.8 models and the ability to fit with the firm’s Powerizer and Responder systems. The core of the system consists of a series of stainless steel tubes, fully EEC homologated centre sections and, for the lower capacity 1.4 engine, a stainless steel racing tube to replace the OE front silencer. Remus says its own internal testing has seen significantly increased power figures for both engine sizes.
UK high-specification brakes and clutch manufacturer Alcon has experienced a successful 2015 motorsport season to go alongside its significant supply deals with Peugeot and Supacat among others. In late November, Kyle Busch claiming victory in the Nascar Sprint Cup race at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, and with it becoming the 2015 champion. Busch brought his Alcon-equipped, Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) Toyota home 1.5 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, to crown yet another successful year for the Tamworth-based manufacturer.
