Yokohama-ATG (Y-ATG) has announced a new partnership in the UK OE2 agricultural tyre market for its Alliance brand. Alongside Kirkby Tyres, which has served as a strategic partner to Alliance for nearly 70 years, and recent newcomer TIA Agri, Wheel Solutions is coming on board as an Alliance partner in the local market.
The Alliance Agriflex+ 372 tyre range for tractors and combines is growing with the introduction of 15 new sizes, bringing the total number available dimensions up to 50. Yokohama-ATG (Y-ATG) is now additionally offering the Agriflex+ 372, which is the only steel belted VF tyre available in the market, in VF900/65R46, VF900/60R42, VF900/50R42, VF800/70R42, VF710/70R42CFO, VF650/60R42, VF710/55R38, VF680/80R38CFO, VF680/75R38CFO, VF500/85R34CFO, VF580/80R34CFO, VF680/85R32CFO, VF710/65R30CFO, VF620/70R30CFO, VF520/85R30CFO.
TIA Agri has expanded its relationship with Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) by adding UK supply of the Alliance brand to its existing distribution of the Galaxy line-up. Under the extended partnership, TIA Agri will distribute the full range of Alliance off-highway tyres.
We’re not yet sure whether it will come to the UK, but Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) has presented a new tyre, the Alliance 373 VibroFarm. The off-highway specialist developed this tyre for tractors fitted with forward-mounted harvesters and employed in applications such as olive, pistachio and grape harvesting.
When Elena Bounimovitch from Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) showed us a prototype of the new Alliance Agriflex+ 373 at Agritechnica 2023 earlier this month, she commented that the hybrid tyre offers the “best of two technologies.” Specifically, the Agriflex+ 373 brings together VF technology and Alliance’s Stratified Layer technology, but it also combines lug and block tread elements so that it will “perform well in the soil but also on the road.”
Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) has an additional partner in Norway, with major wholesaler Norgesdekk now supplying YOHT’s off-highway tyre brands in addition to NDI, who has served as a strategic partner in the Nordic region for almost 40 years.
Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) has an additional partner in Sweden. In addition to its four-decade old strategic partnership with NDI, the tyre maker is now also working with Broson Wheels. Introducing its new partner, YOHT shares that Broson Wheels is the “market leader of the OE2 business and leading supplier of tyres, rims, wheels and accessories for off-highway vehicles in Sweden.”
Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) has reported the appointment of Andrew Musgrave as its country manager for the UK and Ireland. Musgrave commenced in this role last November and leads the aftermarket business for the Alliance and Galaxy brands in these markets. He reports to Ole Baek, YOHT’s regional head Northern Europe and France.
As a result of continued high raw material prices and “dramatically” rising freight costs in 2022, Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) is increasing prices for its products from 1 April 2022. Announcing the upcoming changes, YOHT states that although it has absorbed “the majority of the costs” incurred upstream and during transportation and has thus implemented price increases that are “lower than industry average,” it is “unavoidable to pass a minor portion to its business partners.”
During the summer Alliance Tire Group began showing off its Alliance Agri Star II and 372 Agriflex+ VF lines. The first of these debuted at the LAMMA show in January, but both tyres came to market during the first corona lockdown. Tyrepress.com saw these products in action on a farm in Germany a couple of months back, but the UK’s second lockdown put paid to plans for a real-world 372 VF launch over here. So instead of togging up in extra-thick jackets and pulling on our wellies, on 1 December we headed over to the virtual farm and caught up with ATG and Kirkby Tyres, who exclusively distributes the Alliance brand in the UK and Ireland.

It is displaying its row crop Agriflex 363 IF and the Agriflex 372 VF for tractors, the Alliance 389VF, Alliance 885 and Alliance 882 Agri-Transport radial flotation tyres for implements, and the versatile Multiuse 550.
