UK automotive executives expect that more than half of today’s car owners will not want to own a car in less than a decade, according to KPMG’s Global Automotive Executive Survey 2017.
The survey found that 74 per cent of UK automotive executives think that by 2025, more than half of car owners today will not want to own a vehicle, as self-driving technology and mobility as a service will take priority.
The UK new car market achieved another record year in 2016, with annual registrations climbing for the fifth year in a row to almost 2.7 million, according to figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The latest figures suggest that in 2016 we had the third highest level of new trailer registrations ever, surpassed only by the figures for 2007 and 2008. However, there is also “a distinct weakening of the market in the second half of the year” according to CLEAR analysts who suggest the market is now forecasting a weaker fourth quarter than was predicted earlier in 2016. Reifen China, which is described as “the trade fair for the Asian tyre market” is ready to run from 1 to 3 December 2016. The show is being held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in the Pudong area of the city.
Reifen China, which is organised by China United Rubber Corporation and Messe Essen will present wheels, tyres, repair material, valves, garage equipment and accessories amongst other products.
