The following board meetings at both Renault and Nissan on 10 and 11 December respectively, the two firms have issued the following statement via Carlos Ghosn, chairman and chief executive officer of the Renault-Nissan Alliance: “Today was an important day for the future of the Renault-Nissan Alliance. After months of discussions, I am happy to say that an agreement has been reached that builds on our heritage and strong foundations to achieve further sustainable growth and success of the two partners. While there were important short-term issues to address, it was imperative that all involved took a long view.”
Klarius Products has released a new exhaust for the Nissan Juke 1.6 petrol, and has a range of parts for the 1.5DCi model in development. The new parts include premium centre and rear mufflers plus complementing chrome trim, which makes Klarius Products amongst the first to the market with regards to aftermarket support for the quirky-looking but popular compact SUV.
The NISMO-run Motul Nissan GT-R claimed the Japan’s 2015 Super GT Championship title having finished second at the Motegi GT 250km Race, the championship’s final round. The team ran on Michelin tyres, making this the fourth time in five years that the title has been claimed on the French manufacturer’s rubber.
AirREX has released an adjustable air suspension kit for all variants of the Nissan GT-R. The company says the kit offers “a near ‘plug and play’ fitment”. The Liberty Walk project supplier said its air suspension offers super-low stance at shows, with a variety of ride heights for road use.
Solid Auto UK has added a number of new air, oil and fuel filters to its expanding filters range for Japanese and Korean vehicles. In total, nine new filters have been launched covering 54 vehicle applications.

Production of original equipment passenger car tyres has begun at Yokohama Rubber’s factory in Russia’s Lipetsk region. The tyre maker reports that LLC Yokohama R.P.Z. began original equipment tyre production in November 2014 in response to a direct request from Nissan Russia. The Nissan operation is said to be curtailing its use of tyres manufactured in other countries, presumably to counter the rouble’s devaluation during the last half-year.
The Toyo Open Country A25, produced at the company’s Toyo Tire Malaysia factory, has been selected as an original equipment fitment on models of the NP300 Navara pickup produced in Thailand. The 12th generation Navara will receive the Open Country A25 in size 255/70R16 111H. The tyres will be delivered through Toyo Tire (Thailand), the local sales subsidiary established in April 2013. This is the first occasion that a tyre produced at the Toyo Tire Malaysia plant has been adopted as an original equipment tyre, and the first time Toyo Tire (Thailand) has supplied tyres to an OEM customer.

The US Justice Department indicted one Bridgestone Corporation executive and two former officials for conspiring to fix the prices of certain automotive parts, reports Tire Review. Bridgestone itself agreed in February to plead guilty to price-fixing, paying a $425 million criminal fine. The case involves anti-vibration parts used in automotive suspension systems and engine mounts.
