Nexen Tire has received three A’ Design awards for its latest tyres. Nexen’s All Road Transform concept tyre and Winguard Snow’G WH2 received gold awards, in addition to the N’Fera RU1 being granted a silver award. The company’s three products competed in the vehicle, mobility and transportation design categories.
Nexen Tire is advertising in a motorsport championship that doesn’t actually exist in the real world, and that’s a good thing, as this non-existent championship is the mobile racing game Asphalt 8. Starting 30 March, the tyre maker is targeting consumers in European markets through the placement of video and banner advertisements within the Asphalt 8 game and by holding various in-game events, including a customised sponsor cup – the Nexen Tire Cup – and by offering mini games for European markets.
Nexen Tire has become an ‘Official Major Partner’ of US-based drifting series Formula Drift for the 2016 and 2017 race seasons. The two-year partnership agreement was signed at the Nexen Tire America’s headquarters on 18 March and sees the tyre maker supply the N’Fera SUR4 for competitive use. In addition, the company has also signed partnerships several drivers.
Manchester City FC and sponsor Nexen Tire has partnered in the running of the inaugural Nexen Tire Skills challenge on 14 October 2015. A video of the challenge was published on YouTube on 10 November.
Nexen Tire will soon start work on a larger tech centre in the USA. The Akron Beacon Journal writes that the tyre maker has outgrown its 2008-opened, current centre in Richfield, Ohio, and will break ground on a new facility nearby either before the end of 2015 or early next year.
As of yesterday, Nexen Tire is Manchester City FC’s official tyre partner. Nexen Tire president Ho-Chan Kang and Manchester City FC CEO Ferran Soriano signed the partnership documents during a ceremony held at the City Football Academy in Manchester. Amongst the attendees witnessing the start of the new agreement were Omar Berrada, the club’s football marketing director, plus a number of Nexen Tire and Manchester City executives. Several players were also present.
Nexen Tire reports that operating earnings increased 18 per cent in 2014. According to the Korea-based tyre manufacturer, this was based on lower raw material costs and improved sales. Nexe Tire’s N’blue eco tyre has won the US Green Good Design Award 2014. The awards are organized by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. It selects award winners in the categories of environmentally friendly products, people, organizations and architects, with the N’blue eco being named the winner in the product category at this year’s Green Good Design Awards. Their intention is promote “excellent environmentally friendly design”.
Shortly after the news that Nexen Tire is embarking on a football marketing campaign across a number of English premier league stadia, the Korean-based tyre manufacturer announced that it is making an active push into the European market through a global brand marketing programme with European football clubs as well.
Nexen Tire advertising at Everton, Spurs, Southampton and West Ham
Nexen Tire has announced that it is advertising at the grounds of four English premier league football clubs this season. According to the company, the brand can be seen at the stadiums of Everton FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Southampton FC and West Ham United during the 2014/2015 season.
