MWheels appoints European supply chain manager

MWheels has appointed Mike Cornwell to the newly created post of European supply chain manager, following a three-month senior consultancy role. The wheel distributor, formerly known as Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD), states that Cornwell has already introduced “a market-leading sales and operations planning process along with a structured sales forecasting methodology” and “will further develop integrated systems with service partners and suppliers to improve distribution efficiency” for MWheels’ full commercial wheel range.

MWheels brand signifies evolution to more corporate business approach

With the recruitment of a new layer of management completed over the last 12 months, Manchester based commercial wheel supplier Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD), best known as the distributor of Xlite and Xlite+ forged aluminium wheels, signalled its intention to raise its profile and to convey an impression of the additional expertise now offered by the company. The most immediately obvious sign of this is the company’s new corporate identity – arriving at its headquarters in Sharston, South Manchester, past visitors to the company will notice the new MWheels logo.

MWSD rebrands as MWheels, bringing European operations under same banner

Distributor of Xlite and Xlite+ forged aluminium wheels, Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD) has rebranded as MWheels. The move positions the distributor’s European operations under one banner, having established a German company with the MWheels name at the beginning of the year. The new name is in full effect from Monday 22 May 2017, with the name and logo immediately visible on its reworked website, marketing literature and communications. The new corporate identity will be introduced across all product packaging over the coming months. The logo will also replace the Chevron as MWheels’ quality stamp on its steel, Xlite and Xbrite+ forged aluminium wheels.

MWSD appoints European sales manager

Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD) has appointed Frank Richter as European sales manager, as the Manchester-based wheel distributor continues to strengthen pan-European operations from its recently formed German operation, MWheels GmbH. Richter will assume key aftermarket commercial responsibilities, working closely with key retail and distribution partners throughout Germany from the company’s Cologne office. He will also offer operational, technical and wheel safety advice to bus, coach and truck fleets.

The restructuring of Xlite forged aluminium wheel distributor Motor Wheel Service Distribution’s management team is characterised by company founder John Ellis as “the key to this year”. MWSD expands Scottish business with Drummond Distribution partnership

Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD) is targeting improved delivery timescales in Scotland with a new logistics partnership. Drummond Distribution will offer the company’s Scottish customers next-day delivery on its most popular commercial vehicle wheel sizes. Covering Chevron Steel as well as Xlite and new Xbrite+ forged aluminium wheels, the service will cover over 90 per cent of orders received before 4pm. More uncommon sizes and specifications will be supplied via MWSD’s warehouse in Manchester with delivery within two-three days.

Dennison Trailers has created a special one-off gold trailer to celebrate production of its 50,000th unit, with additional sparkle provided by Xbrite+ forged aluminium wheels. Number 50,000, a Slope Frame ISO Tank trailer ideal for the transportation of hazardous liquids, is one of 34 trailers that will be supplied in a new deal with Suttons International, an innovative logistics and supply chain company that has a global presence and a major name in the haulage industry.

MWSD expanding into Germany with forged aluminium truck wheels

Motor Wheel Service has been active in the wheel industry for more than eight decades and a distributor of commercial vehicle wheels under the name Motor Wheels Service Distribution (MWSD) for the past 35 years. The MWSD board of directors has now decided to establish a new company in Germany at the start of next year in order to enable it to significantly expand its aftermarket distribution in continental Europe and then use this in the mid-term to establish original equipment partnerships with truck trailer manufacturers.

MWSD launches forged aluminium wheel option for Euro 6 tractor units

Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD) has unveiled the latest Xlite and Xbrite+ forged aluminium wheels, designed predominantly for DAF vehicles and petrol and powder tractor units with a weight saving axle. The official UK distributor of Wheels India’s Xlite range has made two eight stud variations available in size 6.75”x17.5” with the 24mm weighing 13.2kg and the 30mm just 13.1kg. Both carry a load capacity of 2,725kg, making them suitable for Euro 6 vehicles.
