Beta Boano and Maxxis-sponsored rider Brad Freeman has added another title to his name after crossing the finish line in first place on Maxxis MaxxEnduro tyres and winning the Enduro GP Junior Class title at this year’s Maxxis FIM EnduroGP World Championship.
For the enduro world championship, Freeman used MaxxEnduro tyres, designed to perfectly fit enduro conditions. The tyre features side blocks, which provide accurate steering and handle aggressive cornering in the muddiest of conditions.
TerraClean ambassador and double BTCC champion, Colin Turkington, has placed himself in contention for a third championship, lying second in the standings with just two events to go.
Last year, Giti Tire debuted as sponsor and tyre supplier to the Fun Cup UK, and the tyre maker says it is proud to return for a second year in 2017. In addition to sponsoring the Fun Cup series, this year Giti Tire is also partnering with Team BRIT, a charity set up to inspire veterans with disabilities, PTSD, and mental health issues by demonstrating what can be achieved through motorsports.

The Yokohama Rubber subsidiary dedicated to motorsports activities will be dissolved on 30 June, the tyre maker announced today. The operations currently handled by Yokohama Motorsports International Co., Ltd. will be transferred to a new internal Motorsports Department that will be established on 1 May.
Westlake tyres has partnered with The Irish Drift Championship (IDC) 2017 and says it will “cooperate with drifters to bring amazing shows for all the visitors”.

Pirelli has celebrated 110 years of motorsport activity. At events held this week in Turin, Italy, the tyre maker celebrated its long competitive heritage at Turin’s National Automobile Museum and also opened the doors to the plant where its most advanced products are manufactured.

Yokohama will launch three new high performance tyres for motorsport, road and off-road applications at Autosport International next week. The NEC, Birmingham show is also an important one for the company not only as Europe’s largest indoor pre-season motorsport event, but as the start of its centenary year celebrations. The road-legal race tyre, Advan A052 will make its UK debut; Yokohama’s new tyre for sports, tuned and performance car drivers, Advan Fleva V701 will also be on display; and finally the new Geolandar A/T G015 for SUV and high performance off-road vehicles will also be revealed.
Roborace has named Michelin as its official tyre partner. Michelin has been working secretly at its testing facilities and sharing over 125 years of its expertise with Roborace to develop an exclusive solution for the ultimate ‘Robocar’, designed by Daniel Simon, which will feature next-generation Michelin road tyres to be used in the series. Roborace is currently in its Beta season appearing at Formula E circuits for exhibitions using its development car ‘DevBot’. The official unveiling of the championship’s Ultimate car will take place in 2017.
A new world record for the fastest car on two wheels was set at Seinäjoki Airport on August 31st, when Nokian Tyres’ product development, Vianor’s professional pit crew and well-known stunt driver Vesa Kivimäki combined their strengths. The tyres on the record-breaking car had been reinforced with Nokian Tyres Aramid Sidewall technology and the new record was set at a speed of 186.269 km/h (115.742 mph)
The FIA World Motor Sport Council has selected Cooper Tire Europe as the Official Tyre Supplier and Associate Partner to the FIA World Rallycross Championship for the next three years. The new deal begins in 2017 and sees Cooper, who has been associated with World RX since its inception, continuing supply to the championship.
Jake Dennis claimed his maiden victory in the Pirelli-backed GP3 Series in the first race at Monza last weekend, with compatriots Jack Aitken and Jake Hughes joining him on an all-British podium.
Dennis had been pipped to pole position at the classic Italian circuit by championship leader Charles Leclerc, but was able to pass the Monaco driver for the lead after a few laps. One lap later, Dennis’ team-mate at the Arden squad Jack Aitken – fresh from his first win at Spa-Francorchamps a weekend earlier – moved past Leclerc to take second.
