The world's largest transit agency has awarded a vehicle lift contract for 570 mobile columns to Rotary Lift. The manufacturer delivered the first set of lifts and provided training this week.
The American based transit agency conducted an exhaustive trial of the Rotary Lift mobile column lift side by side with two of its toughest competitors over 90 days, with testing taking place under real-world conditions at two different transit facilities that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. At the end of the gruelling test period, the Rotary column lifts came out on top and was chosen for its easy operation, superior performance, low user cost and low maintenance costs over time.
Chinese manufacturer Techking has announced that, after stringent testing, Terex Demag Germany has officially approved the Techking 445/95R25 (16.00R25) 174F ETGC tyre size for its all terrain mobile cranes.
Nationwide has launched a new website, www.nationwiderepairs.co.uk, covering information on its Repair Centres, Mobile Repairs, Motorglass, Fast Fit + and Accident Management services. Mobile tyre fitting service TyresontheDrive.com, a business established last year by former Michelin manager Dominic Clark, is said to be growing at a rate of 20 per cent per month. To support its expansion plans, the company is now integrating the tyre industry dedicated Cameo, Workshop Scheduler and MIDaS technologies from Cam Systems into its existing bespoke systems; according to Cam Systems these new additions will provide a more structured and stable back office that will deliver immediate efficiencies and time-saving benefits.

Tyre pressure monitoring system technology provider Advantage PressurePro and Alliance Wireless Technologies, manufacturer of mobile rear vision camera systems and wireless communications products, have announced a new partnership agreement. Michelin is right chuffed that three of its apps have appeared on the list of the best App Store applications for 2011. The three to make the list are ViaMichelin Mobile in the navigation category for iPhone, Restaurants in the Michelin guide France in the lifestyle category for iPhone and the MichelinFrance map in the navigation category for iPad. In 2011, a total of 1,400,000 Michelin applications were downloaded from the App Store.
National Fleet has won the contract to provide fleet services to Venson Automotive Solutions. The contract will cover over 6000 vehicles which provide services to a number of public, private and not-for-profit organisations.
National Fleet reports that it will provide tyre supply and fast-fit solutions for the Venson vehicles via National’s network of over 210 branches nationwide with support from National Fleet’s mobile fitting units.
Wrightington’s One Stop Hire, the largest independent tool and equipment hirer in the North West, has appointed ATS Euromaster to service tyres across the firm’s fleet of 30 light commercial vehicles and eight company cars. Best Buy Tyres has launched a free mobile tyre fitting service operating out of three Merityre branches in Purley, Thame and Bagshot. The online tyre shop has fitting options at 450 centres in the UK and Ireland and the e-Commerce retailer says it plans to expand the mobile service across more branches in the coming months.
