Arriva extends Michelin bus fleet tyre supply, management deal for 5 years
Arriva UK Bus has continued its long-term working relationship with Michelin, signing a new five-year contract with the tyre-maker’s Connected Solutions division. As a result, Michelin will supply, fit and manage tyres across the public transport operator’s 4,000-strong bus fleet until the end of the decade. The deal covers all seven regions in which Arriva operates. In the capital alone, this includes roughly 1,500 buses, 100 routes and 16 garages operated by Arriva London on behalf of Transport for London (TfL). The deal will see Michelin commercial tyres, such as its electric bus-compatible X InCity EV Z, supported by Michelin’s QuickScan technology at five of Arriva’s depots and a trial of Michelin Connected Fleet’s Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) on 10 vehicles in Leicester.
