Speciality tyre manufacturer Maxam Tire has opened a new advanced and automated solid tyre production facility. It said the new facility represents “a major commitment to the speciality solid tyre segment.” Maxam added that the plant is “strategically aligned to better serve today’s market demands through compound advancement and automated technology.” Sources within the Sailun Group told Tyres & Accessories that the factory is located in Vietnam.
Maxam Tire has made further additions to its range of port tyres, introducing two new products: The Maxam MS307 PortXtra IND-3 and MS407 PortXtra IND-4.
Caterpillar Inc has approved the Maxam MS302 L3 tyre for use on specific Cat medium wheel loaders in size 23.5R25. The tyre is currently available as a factory fitment option on Cat 950GC, 950L, 950M, 962L, and 962M in certain regions. Additional Maxam MS302 tyre sizes have also been validated and approved for future factory fitment on additional Cat medium wheel loaders.
Martin West retired as global president of Maxam Tire International Limited. He left the Sailun Group company at the end of last month and has been succeeded by Troy Kline. The president of Maxam Tire North America has assumed full responsibility for European operations.
Birmingham headquartered OTR, industrial, construction, and agricultural tyre supplier, Maxam has created what it calls a “first of its kind”, the MS708 solid OTR tyre. The MS708 features “zero maintenance” solid construction, long tread life, high heat resistance, superior wear and cut resistance, softer ride, self-cleaning tread and mounts on standard multi-piece earthmover rims.
The recent signing of a long-term supply agreement between Maxam Tire International and STARCO will allow the latter to extend its wheel and tyre product range for the growing agricultural segment. The agricultural trailer and implement products supplied by Maxam will primarily consist of tyres with higher than standard speed and load ratings; these will be paired with STARCO rims and offered to OEMs as complete wheel solutions.
Maxam Tire International has appointed Jeff Hughes as sales director, GOTR (giant off the road) tyres. Reporting directly to Maxam global president, Martin West, Hughes is predominantly responsible for driving and developing the sales and market share of Maxam GOTR tyres in mining and associated segments.
As a tyre wholesaler specialising in commercial tyre segments, Kirkby Tyres has progressively expanded its range of OTR tyres and wheels; the company states that its range of radial and bias tyres for earthmovers and construction vehicles is now “enormous and varied”. The wholesaler has distribution partnerships with several rising manufacturers, such as Alliance, BKT, and Double Coin, which have supported Kirkby’s competitive pricing strategy.
Maxam Tire Latam showcased its OTR, industrial, construction and agricultural tyre lines at the 2016 Expomina show in Lima, Peru, held between 14 and 16 September at the Centro de Exposiciones Jockey.
Tyre wholesaler Kings Road Tyres (KRT) has invested in a major expansion of its Kingstone range to include over 60 new lines for ATV, turf, horticultural, agricultural, light materials handling and high speed trailer tyre applications. In addition, the new products are supported by a range of EU-manufactured tubes.
According to the company, the investment represents the most significant expansion of the brand since it was first introduced in 1987, with the new lines joining the company’s existing range of Kingstone tubes and flaps.
Maxam Tire International will exhibit its latest OTR, agricultural, industrial and construction product lines from its large stand in Hall 7 (7E19). While this positioning echoes the brand’s positioning two years ago at the last Essen event, much has since changed, with its head office moving to Birmingham and Sailun Europe head Martin West taking over as managing director. Maxam has also appointed new managers, who will attend the show.
Maxam Tire International Limited (Maxam) has confirmed that Kings Road Tyres (KRT) will be its UK and Ireland distributor for Maxam agricultural, industrial and construction tyres.
Based in West London, and with several distribution centres throughout the UK and a specific facility serving Ireland, KRT have established a successful partnership with Maxam over recent years. Adrian Bader, managing director, KRT, commented: “We are delighted and very enthused to refocus our partnership with MAXAM, particularly with the very exciting development and introduction of their Agrixtra agricultural tyre range. This additional to our brand portfolio in this vibrant replacement market is perceived at KRT as a great enhancement for our dealer network.”
New sizes have joined the Maxam Agrixtra MS951R radial traction agricultural tyre range, and Maxam Tire reports that further sizes are on their way. The company is also developing a new radial implement tyre, the Flotxtra MS961R; this will be available in 12 sizes. Other upcoming launches include the MS965 cross-ply implement rib tyre, which will be produced in 11 sizes, the MS966 cross-ply implement tractor tyre, to be sold in three sizes, and a range of agro-industrial radial tyres.
Following the recent launch of its new Agrixtra agricultural tyre range, Maxam Tire is exhibiting at Agritechnica for the first time. Held in Hannover, Germany between 8-11 November, Maxam’s newly appointed global MD, Martin West, said the company is “delighted to be attending and exhibiting at Agritechnica.”
