Latest GT Radial releases on show at IAA

So far GT Radial has launched 12 new tyres in 2012, and intends to introduce a further ten before the end of the year. Two of the tyre maker’s latest products are on display at the IAA Commercial Vehicles show this week – the GAR820 steer axle tyre and GDL617 drive axle pattern.

Bus range to kick off Conti’s ‘third generation’ commercial line-up

The third generation of commercial vehicle tyres Continental is displaying at this week’s IAA Commercial Vehicles show has been described by the German manufacturer as the “most comprehensive product offensive for truck and bus tyres in the over 140-year history of the Hanover-based tyre manufacturer.” Continental says that from mid-2013 it will successively switch over all of its steering axle, drive axle, trailer and bus tyres across the world to new third generation products.

CES (UK) releases ‘biggest ever’ Workshop Essentials Catalogue

Car parts distributor CES (UK) has released its latest Workshop Essentials catalogue. Issue 9 contains 25 per cent more products than ever before, making it the biggest edition yet. Comprehensively redesigned with an entirely new look, it features some of the industry’s leading brands, such as Comma, Wynn’s, Kent Car Care, Sealey and Ring Automotive. IAA world premiere for Goodyear coach tyres

At this week’s IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Germany, Goodyear is launching its first ever dedicated European-market coach tyres, the Goodyear Marathon Coach and Goodyear Ultra Grip Coach winter drive tyre. Both tyres are available in 295/80R22.5 and 315/80R22.5, with all products to be available on the market by the end of October.

Bridgestone launches new regional steer, drive tyres

Within Europe, Bridgestone is progressively replacing its R297 steer and M729 drive tyres with the newly-developed R-STEER 001 and R-DRIVE 001 regional application truck tyres. Commenting on the pair’s launch, which coincides with the IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Germany, Bridgestone says the new tyres are “designed for robustness in versatile usage, providing high-level performance and a long lifecycle in a wide range of operating conditions.”

Full service – VDB shows off customer portal

A particular focus for Van den Ban at this year’s Reifen show was to convey to visitors the company’s full range of services. To this end, representatives from the Netherlands-based wholesaler’s various national sales teams were on hand to meet with new and existing clients, and VDB showed off examples of its private labels, exclusive brands. Hirst appointed TGI’s VP of program sales

Tire Group International has hired Bill Hirst its new vice-president of program sales for its domestic division. Hirst, who has been in the tyre industry for more than 33 years, has a background in the passenger, light truck, truck, industrial, agricultural and OTR tyre segments. He most recently served as executive vice president of sales at TBC Corp. Prior to that position, Hirst was vice-president of sales and marketing for Treadways Corp.

Hankook to offer AA tyres from 2013

Following the preview of AA-labeled and close-to-production prototypes of Hankook’s core products, the Ventus S1 evo² and the Kinergy Eco, the manufacturer reports that both AA-labelled versions are to be launched in 2013.
