Retreading specialist Marangoni considers both the performance and appearance of its products the “main Marangoni goal” when developing new solutions. Marangoni notes that while reliability, durability and performance are “indispensable requirements” for a premium retreaded tyre, it has observed a “growing request” from fleets for greater attention to detail and accuracy in tyre aesthetics.
In the industrial handling sector, the choice of an OTR tyre represents a significant and fundamental investment, as the aim is not only to guarantee efficient portside and intermodal operations and ensure high levels of quality and reliability – a further goal is to meet an increasingly important requirement amongst many companies operating in this sector, reduced operating costs.
Europe’s retreaders face an ongoing battle against imports of low-priced new commercial vehicle tyres from China, and even well-known names such as Marangoni are not immune from the strain this puts upon turnover and margins. However the Marangoni Group states that it believes in both retreading and in the company’s own future growth, and has undertaken a number of measures to strengthen its position.

Marangoni Commercial Tyres has introduced the new super-single MT National 3 to its Marix range of hot retreaded truck tyres. The next generation product offers increased mileage performance and contained fuel consumption, the manufacturer says. The MT National 3 was created to meet the needs of users in the regional and long-distance transport segment, in normal conditions of tread use, and is suitable for trailers and semitrailers.
Responsibility for the marketing of Marangoni’s 4×4 and light commercial vehicle retreads in Germany has been handed to the company’s 100 per cent owned subsidiary, Wenzel Industrie. The company, which is based near Bremen, will deal with these products in rim diameters up to and including 19-inches.
Marangoni Group has previewed its plans for this year’s Autopromotec. In its exhibition area – hall 22, stand A46 – the group will be presenting both its Ringtread system of retreading and its Marix direct retreads of truck and earthmover tyres. In addition, the Marangoni group’s fleet advantage division will also be exhibiting for the first time, presenting a series of fleet tyre management solutions.
The Marangoni Group, a recognised world leader in the retreading sector, is also an important supplier of earthmover retreads in Europe. The Italian company says that it is now offering a response to the need for efficiency and cost savings expressed in the OTR market.
