Marangoni Retreading Systems reports the installation of a new Ringbuilder 3003 at the plant operated by Reifen Müller GmbH, one of Europe’s largest retreaders. The long-time Marangoni partner was the first European retreader to use the Ringbuilder technology, and this additional machine gives the Reifen Müller facility in Germany the capacity to turn out a further 200 tyres every eight hour shift.
Retreading specialist Marangoni intends to integrate the distribution of all product lines within its German operation, and to help achieve this goal Christoph Frost has joined the management of Marangoni Retreading Systems Deutschland GmbH as managing director, sales and marketing D-A-CH. He began in this role on 1 July and as such takes on responsibility for distribution of pre-cure retreading materials in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Frost retains his existing positions as managing director of Wenzel Industrie GmbH and of recently-acquired OTR tyre retreader Recamax Reifen GmbH.
Marangoni Industrial Tyres recently launched a new solid tyre range called Eltor Evo. According to the company, Eltor Evo refers to the best performance development, therefore Evolution, of the already well known Eltor range.
The Eltor Evo adds several important features to its predecessors: lower rolling resistance, longer life and even higher safety. These new extra features have been developed after important technical market investigations carried on through important end users and premium fork lift producers.
Responsibility for the marketing of Marangoni’s 4×4 and light commercial vehicle retreads in Germany has been handed to the company’s 100 per cent owned subsidiary, Wenzel Industrie. The company, which is based near Bremen, will deal with these products in rim diameters up to and including 19-inches.
Marangoni has announced that it is showing its commercial and industrial tyres at the company’s stand in Hall 22, Stand A46 at Autopromotec next week.
Retreading has begun at the facility set up by Marangoni and Russia’s Tatneft Group in Nizhnekamsk, Tartarstan. Marangoni informed Tyres & Accessories that the first all-steel truck tyres were retreaded by KaMaRetread LLC – a joint venture between Marangoni and Tatneft subsidiary Trading House Kama LLC – in March. Marangoni provided technical assistance prior to the start of production.
Marangoni S.p.A. has acquired a 25 per cent share in South Africa’s Leader Rubber Co. S.A., the Italian company reports. It describes the signing of an agreement to this effect as the “culmination of a partnership that has been ongoing for several years,” and says the objective of taking a 25 per cent shareholding is to strengthen both companies’ presence in the South African market and throughout Africa.
The Marangoni Group, a recognised world leader in the retreading sector, is also an important supplier of earthmover retreads in Europe. The Italian company says that it is now offering a response to the need for efficiency and cost savings expressed in the OTR market.
TRM, a division of Marangoni Meccanica dedicated the development and manufacture of retreading equipment, has announced plans to unveil its latest Omega 60 tyre building machine at Autopromotec (Bologna, Italy – from 20-24 May).
As the deadline approaches for a possible extension of the labelling requirements already in force for new tyres to also include retreads, the retreaded truck tyre segment is rapidly evolving both in regards to performance and the level of uniformity and efficiency that must be guaranteed in order to comply with an evolving legislative situation. With its constant commitment to innovation and development of new product and process technologies for truck and earthmoving tyre retreading, the Marangoni Group has recently introduced and started implementing a multi-year investment plan worth around 8 million euros aimed at modernising the various production departments at its Rovereto plant.
Marangoni Industrial Tyres has announced an eight per cent increase in the selling price of its tyres from 15 May. Marangoni said the price rises will be applied to markets invoiced in euros. Lorenzo Stringari, Marangoni Industrial Tyres sales director, stated: “So far, we have managed to reduce the negative impact of the US dollar/euro exchange rate, keeping down costs and thus avoiding extra costs for our customers.
Marangoni Retreading Systems has introduced the new RZ Fe 100 pattern, completing its range of Ringtread trailer rings. The new product is designed to meet the demands of this selective market, with high mileage and low fuel consumption characteristics; the Fe part of the product name stands for “fuel economy”.
Marangoni Industries Manutention, one of the Marangoni Group’s French subsidiaries, has inaugurated a new logistics and distribution site in Louvres, near Paris, France. The opening is designed to strengthen Marangoni’s presence in an area where, through its subsidiary, it says it has a leading position in sales and service for material handling equipment tyres. The new Louvres site has 2,500sqm of storage space. Marangoni adds that the site shows its ability to evolve with a market in which recent changes have occurred rapidly.

Marangoni Retreading Systems Deutschland GmbH has named Gummiservice Produksjon A/S from Rade, Norway as the latest member of the Marangoni Ringtread network.
According to the company, retreads 40,000 tyres a year and is therefore a significant player in the Norwegian and Swedish markets.
