Marangoni Retreading Systems Deutschland GmbH has named Gummiservice Produksjon A/S from Rade, Norway as the latest member of the Marangoni Ringtread network.
According to the company, retreads 40,000 tyres a year and is therefore a significant player in the Norwegian and Swedish markets.
Marangoni and Tatneft Group have agreed to form a retreading joint venture in Russia. Based in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan, the joint venture to retread all steel truck tyres will operate as KaMaRetread LLC and is expected to commence operations in the first half of 2015. Trading house Kama, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tatneft, will own 65 per cent, while Marangoni SpA will own the remaining 35 per cent. Tatneft is the owner of Nizhnekamskshina, which recently reached the milestone of two million all-steel radial truck tyres produced by its Nizhnekamsk factory.

Marangoni Retreading Systems appointed Nejat Dagdemir as general manager of its Marangoni Kaucuk Ticaret, Turkish sales subsidiary, which is located in Izmir.
With 400,000 retreads a year and around 80 retreaders, Turkey is the sixth biggest European market in terms of the total number of retreads, and second only to Germany regarding cold retreading technology. This means that, with the Marangoni Ringtread and Unitread lines, Marangoni Kaucuk Ticaret has a 20 per cent share of the domestic market – that’s according to company representatives who characterize this as a good level, although less than in other European countries.
A little more than a year after the inauguration of its new plant in Rosario (Santa Fe province), Marangoni Argentina has further expanded its operations with the installation of a fifth 4-metre press for Unitread and Precauch flat pre-cure retread strips, plus two other presses for the production of Ringtreads. The presses will commence operation shortly.
Marangoni Group has acquired Recamax Reifen, a German distributor of earthmover retreads. The purchase follows the acquisition of Wenzel Industrie in 2009.
According to the company, the partnership between Recamax and Marangoni has been going for more than 25 years. It was reinforced with the objective of consolidating and strengthening Marangoni Group’s presence in Germany, one of the most important markets in Europe.

Marangoni Retreading Systems has added to its European retreading sales and support team with the appointment of Jan-Olof Svensson as its new area sales manager for the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian markets. Svensson joins Marangoni from Bandag, where he spent the last 15 years as sales development manager Sweden. His career within the tyre industry began at Michelin Sweden, and he was later employed as sales manager at Franska Däckimporten AB, an importer of Klebér and Ohtsu Tyres in Sweden.
Igino Schiavi has been appointed by Giti Tire as market analyst for Italy, with responsibility for passenger car and light truck (PCR) and truck and bus (TBR) positioning strategies. His main role will be to collect and analyse market data to benchmark the company’s GT Radial, Primewell and Runway tyre brands on both price and performance to ensure best product placement.
Upgrades and extensions to several of Marangoni’s pre-cure tread ranges are now complete; Marangoni Retreading Systems refers to the changes made to its PRL, PRL Kontur and Unitread cold pre-cured flat and concave strip lines as “simplifications” and says one benefit to arise is that it can now publish a single product catalogue that covers all three ranges.
Derek Carruthers has been named as sales and marketing director for Cooper Tire Europe. Within the internal corporate structure, Derek Carruthers will be reporting to managing director Jeff Schumaker and is responsible for sales, marketing, pricing and customer service.
Marangoni Tread North America has added Easy Stacker tyre handling equipment to the line-up of products offered by Marangoni. According to the company, the Easy Stacker is a technological advancement in the logistical handling of commercial truck tyres and is available for purchase now by any commercial or wholesale tyre operation in North America exclusively from Marangoni Tread NA.
