Liqui Moly rang in the last quarter of the year with a record result. In October, the company booked a turnover of 53.8 million euro. With that, the high reached eleven months ago is already history. “Our overall concept and the wide product range are the cornerstones of this success,” said Ernst Prost, managing director of the oil and additives specialist from Germany.
The drivers of sporty vehicles spend a lot on their four-wheeled friend. Only the best is good enough, including motor oil. And for the readers of the German magazine “Sport Auto”, that is once again Liqui Moly. In a survey, almost 75 percent of participants chose the oil “Made in Germany”. Marketing Director Peter Baumann: “The crystal clear result and the repeat of last year’s success are a motivation for the last quarter.”
Oil is no longer a general lubricant, but a highly specialised, liquid replacement part that has to precisely fit the corresponding engine. But finding your way through the crowded field of oil specifications, approvals and brands is not easy. The new oil guide by the German oil and additive specialist Liqui Moly, available through the company’s website, aims to provide a way to navigate the current market.
It is a creeping process. Over the course of years the engine loses more and more of its performance. Its fuel consumption goes up, as do its emissions values. The fault lies with deposits on the inside of the engine that impede combustion. Liqui Moly says its Injection Cleaner helps in gasoline engines.
The newest car engines by Mercedes require a very special oil. The new Top Tec 6300 0W-20 by Liqui Moly is one of the first oils to be officially approved by Mercedes for them. “This is a double leap in development – both for the engine technology of Mercedes and for our oil technology,” says Oliver Kuhn, deputy manager of the liqui moly oil laboratory.
The readers of German trade journal Profi Werkstatt have chosen Liqui Moly as their favourite commercial vehicle oil for the third time. The company was awarded “Best Profi Werkstatt brand” in the oil and lubricant category at Automechanika Frankfurt. In so doing, the automotive chemical specialist defended its leading position by gaining its third readers’ choice award from a Huss publication.
German oil and additive specialist Liqui Moly has launched Tornador Gun, a cleaning gun that uses compressed air. Many car cleaning experts swear by it. “Now our Universal Cleaner can produce even better results,” says David Kaiser, head of research and development at Liqui Moly.

Advertising in the stadium and on social media seeks to tap into the broad appeal of the American basketball team. Liqui Moly is paying a seven-digit figure in return for the two-year deal. “This is our largest-scale sponsorship program ever in North America,” says Peter Baumann, marketing manager at Liqui Moly.
Liqui Moly has previewed its 2019 calendar, which the company promises will include a mix of “exclusive sports cars and beautiful women.” Peter Baumann, marketing director of the German oil and additive specialist, states: “Our calendar has a big fan base,” gathered over two decades. “It is intended to be a little ray of light in the stressful everyday life of a garage.”
Liqui Moly, the well-known manufacturer of oils and additives, has joined the IAAF. According to the association, Liqui Moly will benefit from all the exclusive ‘member only’ services offered as part of the membership including merchandise and promotional workwear, lifestyle protection plans and fleet management solutions, as well as networking opportunities and supporting IAAF’s lobbying activities. Most recently, the proposed changes to the MOT test frequency which were scrapped followed months and months of intensive lobbying by IAAF.
The German oil and additive specialist Liqui Moly is continuing to expand its sport sponsorship: the company is now also the official sponsor of the World Handball Championship, which is will take place in Denmark and Germany in January. “This world championship is one of our global lead sponsorships,” says Peter Baumann, marketing director at Liqui Moly.
One of the most experienced racing teams in touring cars expands its fleet: Alongside the traditional VW Golf TCR, the Liqui Moly Team Engstler now also has two Hyundai i30 N TCR. The oil and additive specialist Liqui Moly welcomes this development as the main sponsor. “It is also an expression of our close cooperation with the car manufacturers,” says marketing director Peter Baumann.
