On 31 May Linglong Tire signed an two year sponsorship deal with the Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA). The partnership, which will see financial and material assistance extended to Uganda’s national basketball team, is the first of its kind in the African Continent.
It’s only a short time ago that Heuver Tyrewholesale began distributing the LingLong range of tractor tyres, and now the line-up it offers is being expanded. In terms of wheel rims, Heuver will give specific attention to the Athlete brand. It will also focus on the latest agricultural tyres by LingLong, which Heuver distributes in a number of markets. Five weeks after its first high performance tyre was produced at the facility, Shandong Linglong Tyre Co. Ltd has inaugurated the initial phase of its ‘LLIT (Thailand) consumer tyre plant. The Chinese tyre maker’s first overseas project was opened on 22 February in the presence of approximately 500 guests from 180 countries. Upon the pressing of a ‘starting ball’ by Linglong Tyre president Wang Feng and six guests of honour, including Chinese ambassador to China Ning Fukui and Surender Singh Kandahari, president of the Al Dobowi Group, the production line stirred to life, marking the plant’s official entry into service.
With an impressive 44 dimensions ranging from 16 to 20-inchs in both W and Y speed categories, the Green-Max line produced by Shandong Linglong Tyre Co. Ltd. is already showing signs of expansion. The latest developments come in the form of several new high performance dimensions.
In a message published on the company’s website, Shandong Linglong Tyre Co., Ltd has addressed the use of raw materials sourced in the Democratic Republic of Congo, stating that it “takes very serious” the allegations that metals mined in the DRC may be making their way into the company’s supply chain. Shandong Linglong wrote that it expects its suppliers only source materials from environmentally and socially responsible suppliers, and said it has systems in place to ensure compliance.
Kings Road Tyres, a leading distributor of Michelin, Kleber, Goodyear, Trelleborg, Firestone and Taurus agricultural tyres, has confirmed its presence at next month’s LAMMA 2014 farm machinery and equipment show. The company is exhibiting on Stand B119 during the two-day show at the East of England Showground (near Peterborough) on 22 and 23 January.
Shandong Linglong manufactured Infinity Tyres offer both light and heavy radial truck tyres, with 15 dimensions available for the former, and a heavy truck radial range featuring over 20 patterns in 40 dimensions.
Infinity Tyres meet major international standards including DOT (USA), ECE (European), SASO (Middle East), and are in addition REACH compliant for Europe.
Following on from the technology agreement signed between Shandong Linglong Tyre and Chinese vehicle manufacturer Geely in June 2012, Linglong reports it has begun supplying original equipment tyres for the Geely Gleagle. The tyre maker is supplying its CrossWind HP010 high performance pattern in size 225/65R16 100H.
Shandong Linglong’s truck and bus radial tyres have gained EPA SmartWay verification for 18 of its Linglong and Leao brand truck tyres in the USA for low rolling resistance. The verified tyres include steer, drive and trailer axle applications.

Infinity has introduced its INF100 van and small commercial vehicle tyre. The brand, manufactured at Shandong Linglong and owned by the Al Dobowi Group, says that the tyre was created using its Eco-Friendly Fuel-Efficient engineering process and Advanced Comfort Control Construction techniques.
Shandong Linglong Tyre reports the successful implementation of new generation curing bladders in its production process. The new bladder, type ZB16E, was developed to address the issues of tyre cavity shoulder channeling, exposed cord in the shoulder and bladder longevity during the production of low profile, high performance tyres. Shandong Linglong reports the ZB16E bladder differs in shape from traditional bladders and utilises an “adopted S-shape design” that reportedly provides a better connection between bladder and tyre cavity.
