A new Mitas tyre for custom cruiser motorcycles will be unveiled at the EICMA exhibition next month. Called the Custom Force, the tyre aims to tick all the boxes – Mitas says the new addition to its two-wheeler portfolio offers “durability, stability, comfort and an attractive design.”
A new generation of Mitas enduro and extreme enduro tyres will be unveiled tomorrow. Mitas will present its new Terra Force-EF and Terra Force-EH at Erzbergrodeo, a motorsport event held in Austria between 30 May and 2 June.
Mitas is extending its off-road product portfolio with the launch of mousse for its off-road racing tyres. The Trelleborg Group company is offering mousse as an alternative to inner tubes.
Mitas reports that it has signed sponsorship agreements with eight riders competing in the 2018 FIM Speedway Grand Prix, which decides the 73rd FIM Speedway World Championship. The Trelleborg Group company will serve as a tyre sponsor for Jason Doyle (2017 World Champion), Patryk Dudek, Tai Woffinden (2013 and 2015 World Champion), Bartosz Zmarzlik, Emil Sayfutdinov, Matej Žagar, Martin Vaculik and Przemyslaw Pawlicki.
A new Mitas scooter tyre line will be introduced at the EICMA motorcycle trade show in Milan next week. The Touring Force-SC is said to be “ideal for any scooter type” and is available in sizes for 10- to 16-inch rim diameters.
Spanish off-road motorcycle specialist GasGas has selected the Mitas ET-01 trial tyre as original equipment for two of its new models, the GasGas Trial Contact ES and GasGas Trial School. These are the first GasGas motorcycles fitted with Mitas tyres as original equipment.
Two new sizes have joined the Mitas Terra Force-R and E-10 ranges. Commenting on these additions, Ksenija Bitenc, director of Mitas’ motorcycle tyre and tube product area, said: “Our aim is to strengthen Mitas in the adventure segment by offering riders complete range of tyre sizes. The extension of Terra Force-R and E-10 tread patterns demonstrates our strategy.”
From next month, the Mitas Terra Force-R range will grow by a further five sizes. Commenting on the upcoming new additions, the Trelleborg Group company’s director of motorcycle tyre and tube products says that by extending the range to include a V speed rated 90/90-21 tyre size, riders “will get a perfect set for a combination of 90/90-21 54V for front wheels and 150/70R17 69V for rear wheels.”
Two new sizes have been added to both the Mitas Terra Force-R and E-10 ranges, and the Trelleborg Group company is showing all newcomers at its EICMA stand (Hall 10, stand L52) this week, along with other ranges.
The latest maxi enduro and trail bike tyre from Mitas, the Terra Force-R, will go on sale next month in one front wheel and two rear sizes. The tyre is an upgrade of the MC30 pattern and is intended for 90 per cent on-road and ten per cent off-road use. Mitas considers the Terra Force-R the “ideal choice for commuters as well as for adventurers who love longer rides with a passenger and luggage.”
Milan-based motorcycle exhibition EICMA gets under way tomorrow, and Mitas says it will unveil a new dual-purpose radial tyre there. Called the Terra Force-R, the tyre is said to feature a “street-oriented tread pattern” that offers “excellent traction on wet or dry roads and outstanding performance on light off-road surfaces.”
A little over a year ago, ČGS Holding a.s announced the formation of the Mitas Moto business unit, an entity that incorporates both the Mitas motorcycle tyre unit and the Savatech unit acquired by the company in October 2012. The first all-new product announced by the combined business unit was the Sport Force for sport, naked and touring bikes. This has now been succeeded by the Sport Force+, and this new-generation of tyre employs a tread compound developed using the latest findings from Mitas’ research and development unit. Mitas Sport Force+ will be available in global markets as of February 2015. All sizes in the Sport Force+ range boast a (W) speed rating, allowing for use at speeds of more than 270 km/h (168 mph).
Mitas has announced that it will extend its range of Sport Force tyres for sport and touring motorcycles. One new rear and two new front tyres will be added to the range, first introduced in September 2013 with three rear sizes and one front size. The Mitas Sport Force includes technologies such as OGT 3D (3-D Optimum Groove Technology); SCT (Strong Carcass Technology); and an FEA (Finite Element Analysis) optimised footprint. The new sizes will allow riders of models from BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha and more to fit Mitas Sport Forces.
