Kingsway Tyres has invested £450,000 in a new autocentre in Retford for car and van drivers, creating two new jobs and further positions in the future. The network has 16 depots across the east of England, and its new centre will include full MOT testing facilities, four-wheel Bluetooth geometry alignment, air-conditioning offering along with the very best in tyre repairs. Based in Trinity Park Industrial Estate, Sloswick Drive, the facility will also offer 24/7 support for commercial trucks, buses and lorries. The new site replaces Kingsway’s depot in Victoria Road, at which the company had been based for more than 40 years.
Kingsway Tyres has become the first tyre dealer to register with e-jobsheet.com, CAM’s open-access mobile data platform for digital tablet technology in the truck, bus and van service arena. Signing up at the CV Show in April, director and general manager of Kingsway Tyres, Martin O’Brien, says, “We were persuaded to register by the many benefits associated by taking greater control of our truck tyre service work which will continue to improve our processes, drive efficiencies and reduce costs.”
Kingsway Tyres has opened its first depot in Bedfordshire as part of its expansion plans. The chain’s 17th garage in Old Bridge Way, Shefford, will provide premium and economy tyres and servicing solutions for cars, vans, 4×4 and commercial fleets, supported by 24 hour tyre related breakdown service vehicles, covering Bedford, Sandy, Stevenage, Letchworth, Hitchin, Luton, Dunstable, Milton Keynes plus the surrounding areas. The new opening has created four new jobs.
