Leading UK commercial vehicle tyre wholesaler Kings Road Tyres (KRT) launched its latest addition to a portfolio of exclusive TBR tyre brands at its Reifen 2014 stand. It will distribute the Jinyu manufactured Blacklion brand in the UK exclusively, with stocks available from the third quarter of 2014, KRT says.
The Aeolus stand at Reifen 2014 highlighted the brand’s significant development in various European markets over the last year, with a well-proportioned stand in Hall 3 for the first time. Director of EU and CIS, Chen Lei told Tyrepress that the brand has been promoting its European business with an emphasis on shows in 2014.
The Kings Road Tyres Group has appointed Tim Bader to the new senior role of operations manager. Bader was previously KRT’s purchasing and marketing manager, and the promotion brings with it the added responsibility for a wide portfolio of Group roles, including IT and communications, stock control, transport and health & safety.
While premium tyre manufacturers are notably providing more application-specific products to the coach and bus sector, the move to specialisation does not end in the higher-priced market segment. As part of its recent agreement to distribute the full range of Aeolus PCR tyres, Kings Road Tyres is now offering UK stockists exclusive access to the Crossace AS02 SUV tyre. The tyre has a category B wet grip rating, which demonstrates its strong water dispersion qualities. According to the company, the Crossace line has been designed for “comfortable and relaxed driving in road traffic and for light off-road use”.
Chinese tyre maker Aeolus says it intends to use its presence at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show to demonstrate the value/performance proposition offered by the brand to buyers and specifiers of commercial tyres. The company plans to exhibit its full range of truck, bus, coach and van tyres in conjunction with exclusive UK distributor Kings Road Tyres.
Aeolus has extended its exclusive UK distribution agreement with Kings Road Tyres (KRT) to include its passenger car tyre range. The fast growing tyre manufacturer, noted in European tyre markets mainly for its OTR and commercial vehicle products, has previously announced its intention to exhibit its PCR products on its stand at Reifen 2014, held at Messe Essen on 27-30 May. KRT previously announced its intention to give a then unnamed PCR range its UK market debut in Manchester at October’s Brityrex International exhibition.
Tyre manufacturer Sailun has confirmed to Tyrepress an “indirect interest” in Kings Road Tyres. While the direct players in the investment group have yet to be fully confirmed, Sailun’s indirect interest gives some indication of potential tyre industry figures involved in the partnership, confirmed to involve Chinese, European and North American interests.
Tyre wholesaler Kings Road Tyres (KRT), best known for its wholesale business in the truck and OTR tyre segments, has announced that it will launch an exclusive passenger car tyre range at October’s Brityrex International exhibition. A controlling interest in Kings Road Tyres Group (KRT) has been acquired by a strategic investment group with members in China, Europe and North America. The UK management team, which bought out the company in the second half of 2011, will “continue to retain a significant equity position in the company and will maintain responsibility for day-to-day operation of Group businesses,” said a statement issued to Tyrepress by KRT today. The company said that the deal would “secure significant new equity investment” for KRT, which it said would help it develop its position as one of the leading players in the UK tyre industry.
Kings Road Tyres, a leading distributor of Michelin, Kleber, Goodyear, Trelleborg, Firestone and Taurus agricultural tyres, has confirmed its presence at next month’s LAMMA 2014 farm machinery and equipment show. The company is exhibiting on Stand B119 during the two-day show at the East of England Showground (near Peterborough) on 22 and 23 January.
Kings Road Tyres has adapted its brand strategy to meet customer needs in 2013, saying the key to success in demanding market conditions is to meet the changing needs of trade customers. With this in mind, the wholesaler has recently launched new distribution deals with Chinese OTR manufacturer Tianli, and with Luxembourg-based construction and industrial pneumatic tyre supplier, Maxam.
Luxembourg-based Maxam Tire has appointed Kings Road Tyres as the exclusive dealer for the UK and Ireland of the company’s range of construction and industrial pneumatic tyres.
Kings Road Tyres, or KRT, offers two exclusive tyre brands for the OTR market with its Aeolus and Kingstone ranges. The fast-growing Aeolus brand was established in 1965 and is one of the largest tyre producers in China. Its extensive OTR range reflects the huge domestic demand for off-road and construction machinery experienced in China and other emerging markets in recent years.
Chinese TBR manufacturer, Aeolus made its first appearance as an exhibitor at the CV Show at the 2013 edition. Appearing alongside its UK distributor Kings Road Tyres, the manufacturer says its presence resulted in product sales and strong visitor feedback. The fast-growing brand is trying to increase awareness in the UK, and amongst its range were two new patterns: the ASR69 and ADR69 truck tyres which are now available in popular sizes 295/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 315/80R22.5.
