Two of Sailun Jinyu International Europe’s tyre brands will now be distributed by wholesalers Viking Wholesaler Tyres and Bond International following a major strategic review of its UK distribution operations. The manufacturer pronounced itself “delighted to announce a number of enhancements and improvements” for its portfolio, which includes the Sailun, Jinyu, Blacklion, and Rovelo brands. The new strategy has become effective immediately, SJI Europe added.
Sailun Jinyu will begin its new football perimeter advertising agreement with the English Premier League in this weekend’s matches, having signed an initial commitment to 10 games. Its advertisements will appear on the pitch perimeter hoardings at Stoke City’s Bet365 stadium and The Hawthorns, home to West Bromwich Albion, on 20 August, with a second showing at the latter ground on 28 August.
Sailun-Jinyu Group has denied reports in Turkish newspaper Hürriyat suggesting the firm is planning on establishing a tyre factory in Turkey by 2020. The Hürriyat report, dated 5 March, said Sailun is planning to set up a joint-venture tyre factory in Turkey with its Turkish distribution partner there, Yeslas.
Various news reports suggest Jinyu, (which changed its name to Sailun Jinyu in 2014 following its merger with Sailun) could be building a new tyre plant in Turkey. According to the Turkish Hurriyet newspaper, Jinyu is considering a joint-venture with local distributor Yeslas.
The Italian tyre brand Momo Tires has signed a contract to manufacture Momo tyres “in Europe”. According to the company, the new partnership includes the production of three brand new models, along with an innovative “four season” tyre to complete the line-up. However, no further details of exactly where the tyres will be produced have yet been released. In answer to questions from Tyres & Accessories, Momo representatives simply said they will publish the name of the producer and the factory soon, which could suggest it is a manufacturer with more than one factory.
Maxam has announced its strategic intent to grow global sales and market shares following completion of an intensive review of its operations. One result of this review has been the move of the operational support team from Luxembourg to Birmingham, where it will link up with the Sailun Jinyu European team, and stand in very close proximity to the nearby Sailun European Research and Development facility. In order to achieve its overall objective, the OTR tyre manufacturer has also planned number of initiatives.
