Italmatic Italy reports that it has taken over MGT Tyre, an OTR and aviation tyre retreading equipment manufacturer, in a deal that includes the brand and the related technology and know-how. Dr. Massimo Ghitturi, CEO of Italmatic Italy, pointed out that the takeover of MGT forms part of the company’s plans to invest in its technology and human resources with a view to becoming “the leading company in the worldwide retreading equipment market.”
Totrax has announced that it is introducing Cam Systems Cameo product to provide “greater flexibility and efficiency to its business through streamlining its day to day operating system.” By replacing its outmoded platform with the modern Cameo software system, Totrax aims to flex and grow the programme with its business, which has doubled in size over the past three years.
Derbyshire-based Magna M/S Ltd has been appointed to represent the interests of Italmatic Srl, of Italy, in the UK market. Italmatic has a long association with the UK, stretching back to 1969, when the company exhibited a buffer at the London Motor Show. Today the Italmatic product portfolio includes retreading equipment, such as autoclaves, or even complete turnkey retreading installations, a range of retreading accessories (bladders, curing envelopes, buffing blades etc) and tyre shop consumables and accessories. A recent addition to the product range is a series of Comfort, superelastic industrial tyres.
Director of Magna M/S is Ian Smith, who has many years technical and hands-on experience in the tyre industry, in both new tyre manufacturing and retreading. Speaking of the new arrangement, he said: “I have a long association with Italmatic and as such understand their products and their market, having been a customer in the tyre manufacturing and automotive wheel and tyre assembly industries.” The agreement between Italmatic and Magna, he says, shows Italmatic’s commitment to the UK market.
Malaysian-based tread solutions company, Goodway, recently welcomed Dr Aldo Ghitturi, chairman of Italmatic Srl to its Nilai plant. The visit of one of the world’s largest retreading machine manufacturers was part of on-going efforts to foster closer business relationship between Malaysian and Italian companies. According to a Rubber Asia report, it is also part of Goodway’s vision and latest aggressive business expansion plans, which will see it form strategic alliances with reputable companies worldwide. Goodway is confident that it will soon form successful strategic partnerships that will help capture new markets in Europe. The venture is designed to raise the profile of ‘Supercool’ as a premium product in European markets.
